1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Birdies on a Fence on: March 10, 2009 09:57:56 PM
My sister and I had a day of serious crafting and made five Birdie Slings - I LOVE this pattern!!!

My sis and I each kept one and then gave one to my mom, grandma and friend at work - I think I may make a few more when the sewing bug hits again!! Cheesy
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / skully cloche on: November 15, 2005 10:21:24 PM
It was for the Foster's swap, in honor of Eduardo! Yay! Since my partner has received - I can share, yay!!

3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / I gave my boss a cold virus.... on: October 20, 2005 09:42:09 PM
and she loved it!!! Grin

the virus that causes the common cold looks like:

so I crocheted one... I actually got the idea off of thinkgeek.com who has a line of plushies but at least I made up the crochet pattern myself!

I think for Xmas I will crochet a whole set for my nephew of childhood type illnesses - like the cold, chicken pox, fifth disease, mumps, strep, etc just because little boys have lots of germs and they might as well have some cute ones thrown in there too!!!

I have the pattern to post but I will have to do it tomorrow.... battery is dying....
4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Muse doll on: October 07, 2005 07:38:47 PM
I had incredibly too much fun making this "Muse" doll for the creative writing swap that I will be making more -

the basic body is made of Fimo clay, then wired together so the lady has moveable limbs, well within limits. Painted on her boots and corset, and had way too fun sewing up her little skirt - When I make the next one I will take pictures as I go, that way if there is any interest I can post a little mini tute  Smiley
5  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / "thinking cap" on: October 07, 2005 07:30:22 PM
My swap partner received so I can post! Yay!

basic beanie in black, and then made the "lightbulb" kind of "free" style -

It was fun, I think I may have to make a couple for friends for xmas!
6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / HoundsTooth Handbag on: September 27, 2005 08:18:08 PM
I made this for instant swap 4 (and since my partner received yesterday I can finally post!!  Grin ) - I haven't done the houndstooth stitch before but I really liked how it works out and think I am going to have to experiment a bit more with it -

7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Attempt at Celtic inspired bag on: September 27, 2005 08:09:09 PM
So last year I attempted to make a celtic bag for my mom, and I forgot about it until I saw her this weekend with it - so I decided to take a few pictures and post!

I don't remember how I made it, and now looking at it I know where i can make it a bit better so I may have to make a second one - anyway, just thought I would share! Smiley

8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Ron-Bother-Stick - crocheted weapon of choice! on: September 09, 2005 11:05:31 AM
After discovering the Potter Pals through a thread here, I had to try my hand at making a "Bother Stick" of Ron Weasley to hit my dear so-SO with (who happens to also be named Ron - it was just too perfect and meant to be!) - I am not totally happy with how it turned out, it was a learning experience as I went and I am debating trying a second one with significant "refinement" to my pattern. Anyhow, though not as pretty or accurate as I would like, it still works well *snicker*  Grin Wink

Needless to say, someone got all "bothered" and grumpy! hee hee
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Pennies from Heaven - ribbon scarf on: September 09, 2005 10:49:40 AM
I thought I would mimic the knitted drop stitch but with the versatility of crochet, I could exaggerate the stitch. It works well with ribbon like yarns - I am still experimenting but I liked my little prototype - and my little model  Wink

Demitri, heart nosed super-model!
