165  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Ron-Bother-Stick - crocheted weapon of choice! on: September 09, 2005 11:05:31 AM
After discovering the Potter Pals through a thread here, I had to try my hand at making a "Bother Stick" of Ron Weasley to hit my dear so-SO with (who happens to also be named Ron - it was just too perfect and meant to be!) - I am not totally happy with how it turned out, it was a learning experience as I went and I am debating trying a second one with significant "refinement" to my pattern. Anyhow, though not as pretty or accurate as I would like, it still works well *snicker*  Grin Wink

Needless to say, someone got all "bothered" and grumpy! hee hee

Yeah, I would love to see the pictures, it sounds so cool!
167  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Pennies from Heaven - ribbon scarf on: September 09, 2005 10:49:40 AM
I thought I would mimic the knitted drop stitch but with the versatility of crochet, I could exaggerate the stitch. It works well with ribbon like yarns - I am still experimenting but I liked my little prototype - and my little model  Wink

Demitri, heart nosed super-model!

I think I am so in on _attempting_ this - it would be great to wear to the next movie, as a total molly tribute.

170  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Crochet Cat Cave on: August 31, 2005 11:14:49 PM
oh god that is such a cool idea, especially now with heatherann's great help! I know my cats would go nuts over something like that - I wonder if attempting to felt it would make it sturdier? Except I am pretty sure I wouldn't want to waste wool on my little buggers (and I hope they can't read or I am going to be a scratching post) -

20lbs?!?! I bet he is one snuggly fellow!!! My sixteen pounder looks like a pillow with legs!!! Shocked
