1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Make a Purse & Fill It Swap (Round 6) Gallery on: March 05, 2011 03:45:43 PM
For the reversible Amy Butler bag I used a canvas from Joann's. I was suprised by my find. It looked very Amy Butler to me!

This is the bag that I made for IsikkahJai. I am not sure if she will be able to post pictures because she has limited internet access. This is Amy Butler's reversible tote. It looked a lot smaller in the pictures on the pattern!

3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Received! on: March 03, 2011 07:25:32 AM
Wow, I received a wonderful bag from my partner IsikkahJai! I was thinking about making this bag for her, but I chickened out!! Sad   I can't believe this is her first bag! It is great! It is Amy Butler's Cosmo bag. The pockets inside are awesome.

She filled it with all kinds of useful stuff too! I will have to share the Reese's for sure...

I am very happy with this swap Smiley My partner should have received yesterday but has had limited internet access. Hope she posts soon too!

I love everyone's stuff! I never would have thought of a comic book bag!

Finished my bag! Now I am just finishing up with fillers today. I am really happy with how the bag turned out, except that it is HUGE. It just didn't look this big in the pictures. My partner has some toddlers, so she can carry a weeks worth of diapers and toys  Tongue  Well I just really hope she can use it, took a long time to make!

I'm contemplating signing up.... Me and my man are getting married in July and I'm gonna need some sexy stuff Wink It would be fun to make too and this swap might give me the guts to try...

I ended up with enough fabric that I think I can make two bags from it! One for me, one for her Smiley It is always exciting when that happens. I have fallen in love with this fabric.

Amy Butler patterns are intense. There is.... so much to do! I know that it will be worth it though. I always just kind of made up purses and wondered why they were limp. Now I understand interfacing, she puts it EVERYWHERE!

whats_her_name - You should visit! It is a great place! Henry Ford brought houses from different times in history and different parts of America to one place. In some of the houses we show what life would have been like in 1880, or 1760, and the like. We work and cook as the family who lived in the house would have, and eat it together. We grow the food and raise animals on the farm (some of which we do eat). We have a lot of "antique breeds", REALLY cool chickens. We can't feed guests because we aren't a restaurant though. The Eagle Tavern is a restaurant in the village with an 1850's menu and dining experience, the staff even dress for the period.

It's definitely something to check out. It is a collection of America's history. The museum is cool too. It could be a 2-3 day trip really  Grin
