I want to knit a sweater or cardigan for my little cousin, who will be 5 in july. i bought yarn to knit her a sweater for her birthday LAST YEAR! but it never got beyond a few inches. the sweater i was going to knit her was kinda babyish and in the last year she has turned into a real girly girl and loves all pink and fluffy. the problem is i have 5 balls of navy and 2 balls of red dk merino wool. its ok if i dont use the red in the garment, and it would be ok if i bought a few extra balls in different colours or something, but i cant really afford to go buy a whole lot more yarn.
although i would consider myself a good intermediate knitter, the only thing i have ever knit that had to actually fit
someone was a hat, so something that the sizing was forgiving would be great. i love this pattern for a pinwheel sweater http://elann.com/ShowFreePattern.asp?Id=138024
but it uses a different gauge yarn and im crap at adapting patterns for different gauges.
I have already attempted Reid from knitty, which would be gorgeous, but i struggled with the lace pattern and sizing, so i've ripped out what i did, so my yarn and needles are waiting here to start something else.
