i'd totally be into this one, although i'd be kinda nervous cause i don't really have an idea of what i would make yet - i guess it depends on the person too.  i could definately use some pumping up for my singleness though!  woot!

gloing! i really really like your idea of the scrapbook/calendar!  he'd love that! and i am always looking for excuses to spend more time on photoshop and illustrator.  Cheesy

lolmegan i like the journal idea too.  all our contact will be letters anyway, so this would be a fun way to switch things up a bit.

msalowishus and dooney, i like the shirt idea.  he's an artist and i have some of his paintings, so i think i may screen or paint one on a shirt, or maybe even one of mine?  haven't really decided yet.

thanks y'all!
28  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: My crappy photos actually started to look like they MAY have been expertly t on: May 30, 2006 10:19:03 PM
oooo, photograpy is my love, and photoshop my second, so this is a good post for me!

nice work on the pics! you have a good eye.  i especially like the one with the buildings and the tree (no. 4 i think?).  the angles are good and i like it in the sepia tones.  i generally like sepia for angle-y pics, it focuses you on the mechanics of the picture over the brighness of the colors.
the sunset one (no. 3) is a good one too - i really like those trees! - but i think i may like the original better.  the red is good, so a touch more on the original would be nice, but it may be a bit unbelievable with so much red.  one way to keep the intensity of the red would be to deselect the tree and then feather the edges 2 or 3 px's before adding the red hue.  it will keep it's silowette-like appearance that way, and will pop out a lot more.

excellent job, keep shooting!

well done!  quite impressive for being 11, AND for liking abstract art!  you're way ahead of me... Cheesy  i don't know if you meant to do this, but i think one of my favorite parts of the painting is how the shapes make up different things.  for example thee J shape, it kinda reminds me of the hook at the bottom of an umbrella which is particularly significant to me.
i definately think you should keep painting!  and nice work for being an "unusual 11 year old".  we need more of those.

gwenluvy....you are hilarious.  if only that applied to me!  thanks for sharing, it cracked me up.

thanks so much guys!  i love the book and jar idea, and the wallet!  i better get crafting!  i was also thinking of maybe a messenger bag or something like that?  he'll need one of those, since he'll be walking a lot.  do any of you have tips on how to make one really strong?  i don't have a surger either... so maybe i should just let him buy one.
