This is my first time posting on craftsters, so please bear with the noob that I am!
Recently, I have fallen in love my nationality's traditional dress, called hanbok. This is the name of the Korean traditional costume. I have also been caught up in the hype of prom preparation.. trying to search for the perfect prom dress. So if you put that together.. you get a hanbok-style prom dress!
However, there aren't many of those kinds of dresses out there, are there? No. I don't think so! So i've decided to make one myself.
I am clueless as to what type of fabric to use, and where to buy the fabric. I would also like some help in getting a basic pattern for the dress in the picture below (premade or your own homemade pattern is fine
) Another inquiry.. I am wondering how you can give the bottom half of the dress a bit of volume.
My inspiration is the designer Lee Young Hee, who has a fantastic website filled with a gallery of her works, both traditional and modern hanboks. www.leeyounghee.co. krThank you in advance !
