91  Amy Butler Nappy Sack in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by SewingLori on: August 23, 2006 07:21:40 AM
So, I've been carrying around my Amy Butler Nappy Sack as a diaper bag for a few months. I always get comments on it. The fabric is a super deal I found on the Wal-Mart $1 table and I bought the entire bolt. (10 YARDS!)

My MIL is a teacher's aid and she is convinced this would be the ultimate bag for her. She asked me if she could borrow my pattern for the bag so she'd have a new bag for school on Thursday. I told her I'd send it with my husband when he drops off my son (she was our babysitter this summer). As a "thank you for tending my kid for free" gift, I just made her the bag last night. Won't she be surprised when Mike shows up with a completed bag rather than the pattern.

My dingy old bag:

I just hope she likes the fabric and hope it isn't too juvenile. I love this pattern. I have a feeling of accomplishment every time I do it because it is so easy. It always takes less than 2 hours and I feel like I am so advanced. haha! The simple pleasures in life!

92  Re: Pin Cushion Rnd 3 SWAP GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by SewingLori on: August 22, 2006 09:22:49 AM
I know you've seen pics, but I just need to give props to my swap partner once again for my radical pin cushion.

I told her yesterday that my 2 year old is very taken to it. He has been hauling it around since I pulled it out of the package. I haven't even stuck a pin in it yet to see if it works.  I guess I'll only be concerned about him carrying a sexy lady pillow around if I go in his room and he is practicing kissing with it. Wink

My version of pics:

and the fabric:

Thanks again BeeSting! I love it... and so does Cohen.

here is another look at the pins:

I must give my husband mad props for helping me on the gnome. We worked together on this one and it was SO FUN!
