71  Re: November 2006 Birthday Swap in The Swap Gallery by SewingLori on: November 21, 2006 03:47:31 PM
Onthinice send me a GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR-EAT (like the frosted flakes tiger) package.

Looky looky!

This is what I got... 2 market bags and a swap journal. (pardon the stack of bags in the background... i was taking photos for my boutique items at the same time.)

The market bags:

I love these for all sorts of purposes because they expand like crazy and you can fit 16 pairs of jeans in there... if you wanted to. I like these because my local grocery store takes $.25 off for every bag you bring yourself. If I take 4, it is like my soda was free! i love the pink and orange one so much.

The swap journal:

I said I wanted a mixed paper journal... She suggested a swap journal. It has never ever ever occured to me how helpful this would be until this past 2 months when I swapped myself out with 5 swaps and 2 personal swaps. I'm crazy... this would have saved a lot of effort. I look forward to loading up again so I can see if my theory is correct! Wink

Thanks for the great loot. I wish I had better photos. Maybe I'll shove all of jeans in one of the bags so you can see just how big these babies can get!

JUST KIDDING! Woot! Woot! I got the MOST AMAZING package all in one piece! Wink (i'm a jerk!) Can I just tell you all that waiting for this package has been one tough wait? I read Stacy's blog daily and I've known for a week that she posted pictures of what I got on there. I HAVEN'T PEEKED! YIKES! Today i read part of her blog to get caught up but stopped at the "DON"T READ THIS POST LORI"

Here it all is!

Everything wrapped!

My Stocking - They don't say "StacySews" for nothing!

A pincushion (so cute... i'm an addict), some great snowmen ornaments (polymer clay?), and a Kansas mug with my favorite mixture - candy canes and hot cocoa!

The funniest stuffie ever - it is a gingerbread man with a bite taken out of his head... and some candy

A snowman plate:

A kitty from my Wist (thank you thank you!)

THe sweetest gift ever! my son loves pirates and ducks. She drew a pirate duck and stuffed him. Cohen loves it! She doesn't just sew, she draws, too.

A little embroidered pouch with some bath goods - they smell divine!

Thanks Stacy! This was a great swap package and it has been way fun to get to know you via PM. Smiley

Well - I received. My box was all busted up and there was nothing in it but these broken candy canes. Cry

Sorry Stacy... I know you put a lot of work into this package.

MoonoverBrooklyn received my ATC yesterday. I thought I'd do a post. If you have a better pic, please put it up. Smiley

My obsession is vintage trim. Seriously, I go gah gah over it! These are a few of my favorites. I found about 1/2 a bolt of each of these patterns and I bought it all. My supply is dwindling. If any of you have been my swap partners, you've probably received some of it.

Anyway, I thought this would be a great way to showcase them. And *hint hint*, if you find any fabulous vintage trim that you say, "i like this but i don't know what to do with it"... PM me... I know what to do with it. I want it like Golum wants that ring. Wink

79  Does this thing really work? Whooooopie! in Halloween Costumes by SewingLori on: November 01, 2006 08:19:25 AM
Whoopie Cushion

Made from 3 yards of 72" felt and a sharpie. Smiley

So, I saw this in a Budget Living magazine years ago and thought it was such a clever costume. I didn't realize that you could buy them in a costume shop until after I searched the entire town over for 3 consecutive yards of bright pink felt.

It was still a hit at the party... however, I did get tired of getting squeezes from random people saying, "Does this thing work?" in Rodney Dangerfield-esque voices. Oh brother.

If you want to do a swap for paper arts, igobylorib is the partner to choose! HOLY COW this lady has skills!

I got my matchboxes yesterday. They look so lovely sitting in a little bowl on my night stand. THey match my bedroom perfectly.

Here is a small sampling of what this gal can do:

I could not be more pleased. THanks so much Lori!
