1  Quick and Easy Handmade Journal/Mixed CD ~ Sweetest Day Gift in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by katebug48 on: October 27, 2011 11:20:20 AM
A little late, but wanted to show off the gift I gave my husband-to-be for Sweetest Day.  We are getting married on January 28, 2012 and so I wanted to do something handmade that would mean a lot and yet not break the bank, so I came up with this.

I listened to a TON of songs and collected 14 that had the most meaning to me and related the most to our relationship.  I didn't include any wedding songs at all, because I'm going to do another mixed cd for our anniversary that includes wedding songs!  I took snippets of lyrics that meant the most and wrote them out on notebook paper.  I made them into a booklet journal of sorts by using scotch tape.  I then took those songs and put them into a mixed cd.  I included a letter in the front that served as his card, and then also included another card that just told about my hopes and dreams for us as a couple.  He really enjoyed it!

Thanks for looking!

2  Re: Dishalicious Dishcloth/Washcloth Swap Rd. 9 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by katebug48 on: September 27, 2009 10:59:10 AM
Received some amazing cloths from Diane - gerbilgal.  They are so great.  All of these cloths with the "pictures" on them have really inspired me to start knitting.

The first is gorgeous pink varigated cloth with an embossed Awareness Ribbon.  I love that it's pink, as my grandma is breast cancer survivor, but it's also great just as a symbol for my mom who is going through treaments for Colorectal Cancer.

The second cloth is of two snowpeople with a heart in between.  Such an adorable snow man and woman Smiley  Mom and I love snowmen SO much!

Thank you SO much Diane for these.  Great to be partnered together again!

I received my items from Nichole aka NH822.  I have to say this is hands down the absolute best swap package I have ever received since I've started swapping.  So much love and thoughfulness was put into everything.

First up is this amazing picture frame.

- The blue ribbon is for Colorectal Awareness.   My mom is going through treatments for colorectal cancer.  She is officially cancer free!!  Just received word from the doctor two weeks ago that the treatments killed everything...withou t surgery!
- I am obsessed with Rascal Flatts.  This is decorated with a lyric from RF's song "My Wish."  So fitting for this frame.
- My mom is my bff.  This will hold a picture of us together.
- I love anything glittery.  This is loaded with tons of iridescent glitter all over the frame.

Next is a doggy diecut (x2) to use in my scrapbook.  Also pictured is a red stamp pad.

- I love scrapbooking
- I have 2 dogs that I love to death.
- I just recently lost one of my pups suddenly.
- I love rubberstamping.

I opened up a beautiful red bag and it was filled with this.  Ladybug keychain, ladybug necklace and tea bags.

- My nickname is katebug
- I love ladybugs
- I love jewelry
- I love a good cup of tea
- I like making my own Tazo Chai lattes at home.

The beautiful ladybug beads on the necklace and keychain were handmade by Nichole.  So beautiful!

Up next were these goodies.

- I love stickers.
- My nickname is katebug.
- I love rubberstamping.
- I love ladybugs.
- I'm a nail polish fanatic.
- I collect nail polish (currently about 500 bottles).

And finally this most amazing purse.

The lining in it is pure perfection.

- I really love handbags and wanted to make one for myself.
- I love ladybugs.
- My nickname is katebug.

On the bag there is a gorgeous little lady hiding out in the corner.

And to go with the purse.  This bag is amazing.  I love the ric rac embelishment at the top.  My paternal grandmother had a whole stash of ric rac that mom inherited so this makes me think of her.  She passed away two years before I was born.  Everytime I use the makeup bag, I'll think of her Smiley

- I am a makeup fanatic.
- I love ladybugs.

Nichole, thank you so much again for everything.  Such a sweet and amazing package.  I'm in awe of your craft skills.  Everything is pure perfection  Grin

9  Cricut Graduation Cards in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by katebug48 on: May 28, 2009 10:20:18 PM
So my mom and I just purchased a Cricut Expression and I used it tonight to whip up some cards for my students.  Friday is their last day of class before they graduate, so I made them cards and wrote messages inside them.

This is for my class of students with special needs.  I just kept the design simple and clean.  I used two different colors of cardstock and just reversed the designs.

Design 1.

Design 2.

Both designs side by side.

And finally all packaged up in their envelopes ready for delivery!

For this being my first time using a Cricut, it made it so quick and easy.  I literally took them off the cutting mat slapped on glue and they were done!  I was glad it didn't take too long, because I still have so many things to do before tomorrow for their graduation party. lol

10  Re: earring addiction swap GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by katebug48 on: May 11, 2009 02:41:22 PM
I received the most wonderful earrings from fusbdgt

Here is the lovely pouch they came in.  I love the fabric and the colors so much.  I'm going to reuse the pouch as a card wallet!

And my two lovely pair of earrings.

The first are Mother of Pearl.  I'm a June baby and love anything pearl, especially Mother of Pearl!

The second pair is just as gorgeous.  They are the lightest wispiest earrings ever.  I had to put them on immediately.  It was so sunny out today the light just gleamed off the earrings Smiley

Thank you so much for my items!!
