1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Cheapo's Unite! on: July 03, 2006 03:57:15 PM
I wanna hear from the cheap seats!  I want to hear your cheapo stories.  OK, I'll go first.  I never buy a sewing pattern unless it's on sale for 99 cents.  Also, I never buy fabric unless it is on clearance...deep clearance (we call it going to see Clarence.)  I frequent the dollar-a-yard fabric table, but only buy something if I really, really like it.  We are saving our money for things such luxuries as food and gas.  Still, I've been able to always have projects going.  Half the fun is trying to find the best bargains.  My latest glory.  Black, flowered brocade at $2 a yard.  I waited a year for it to go on sale.  Bua ha ha.
2  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Suggest New Boards and New Features / Board for Pattern Making on: October 21, 2005 06:16:14 AM
I am learning how to draft patterns (clothing).  I have encountered a number of other posts with a similar bent.  I think it would be great to have a board just for pattern making and learning and questions.  Anybody interested? It would be cool to see stuff from the idea or sketch to the pattern thru the finished garment.
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / I've just come out of a Blue Rage - can anyone relate? on: August 20, 2005 09:21:13 PM
Can anyone relate to this or do I just need to be medicated?  I have been working on a cowboy duster for my husband.  I worked like three solid days on it.  I got so mean by the third day, I couldn't even stand myself.  I got so sick of looking at all those yards and yards of blue canvas, I just had to stop.  I then hung it up in my room where it just mocked me for not finishing it.  The only thing I have left to do is the buttons and buttonholes, but I can't stand to look at the thing.  It is kinda going away now, but boy did I get worked up over that.  Has that ever happened to anyone else?
4  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / dress was a skirt, very cute model on: August 06, 2005 07:56:58 PM
