that is a good costume. Nothing wrong with good clean fun. You can say it was a "fantasy" concept.

Thank you! "Fantasy" in the same sense of how medieval costumes are so far from the original clothing of the time! Cheesy

Does anyone know when the Shop the Swap 30 should appear? I haven't been able to participate the last few months because I'm far away from home (in Germany), but I'll be back in September. Cheesy

Is anyone making fabric hair roller curler things this round? If so, PM me. I need curly hair for a musical and I don't  know if I really want to use a curling iron on my hair almost every day for two weeks.  Undecided

Ok, so I know I haven't posted in the discussion thread for awhile, but I just got some super exciting crafty news.

I'm currently rehearsing for a musical and the other day I decided to show up in a plaid skirt that I had made awhile ago. It's kind of crazy and the director of the production commented on it. Being a pro-crafty person, I told her that I made it. Now she's going to try to get me hired to work on the costumes for the show.  Cheesy

I really hope it works out. I would really *love* to work in a costume shop! (Especially for this show - it's "The Pirates of Penzance", so the costumes are bound to be fabulous!)

I've eaten deep fried Oreos!

(Also, I added a free with purchase item to my shop. I found some sheets of stickers that can be colored in my room while cleaning. As I no longer spend much time coloring, I'm hoping that someone with kids can claim and use them!)
36  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Shop the Swap 26 **shops only** on: May 02, 2009 11:53:09 PM
The somewhat eclectic shop of various crafty things!

Shop OPEN
Location: Canada until mid-June, then GERMANY!  Grin
Stats: Pet-free (although I wish it weren't!), smoke-free
Bio: I'm a university student specializing in Behavioral Neuroscience. Not surprisingly, I have a strong nerdy streak. However, I try to balance this out with a healthy dose of creative expression through crafting and theater. Smiley

Loopy Bracelet 3 pt - (Custom Order) PM me if you want one of these, preferably before you order it. We can discuss colors and then I can go check out a bead store, but I might need more than a week to get it made and shipped off. (If I have all of the bead colors that I need already, I might make it 2 points)

Example of a loopy bracelet in ice blue, pearl, and silver-lined clear beads:

Loom Bracelet 2 pt - (Custom Order) PM me if you want one of these, preferably before you order it. We can discuss colors and then I can go check out a bead store, but I might need more than a week to get it made and shipped off. I can do essentially any pixelated design, although if it's really complex, I might make it 3 pt for the mental effort. Below are two examples:

Punk Princess (Small Skirt - stretch waistband)

Crocheted Cowboy Hat 3 pt SALE - 2 pt
Received from kidcompassion approximately 2 years ago. It's a beautiful hat and I fell in love with the idea of a crocheted cowboy hat. Unfortunately, I've always been too wimpy to wear it around my hometown. Thus, I would like it to go to the home of someone who can and will pull the hat off!  Cheesy

marmota-b is Czech and she seems to be a very active craftster, so maybe she can help?

Awesome! Thank you. LaughingLark suggested contacting her as well, so I've messaged her to see if she would be interested in a Czech for small craft swap.  Cheesy

If anyone likes opera, here's a link to the song I'm learning. It's an absolutely gorgeous piece of music. I normally prefer comedic opera, but this song really captivated me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tImMZLfHaE

Strange question! Does anyone either speak Czech or know someone who speaks Czech? I need to get the lyrics to a song recorded (spoken) so that I can get the correct pronunciation. I have no idea how to go about finding a Czech person. :/

Nice dress!

(And yay for Gilbert & Sullivan! I'm probably going to be in a production of Iolanthe next year.)
