If anyone is at all interested in custom beadwork, I would really love to have something productive to do with my hands while studying for my last midterm!! It increases my chances of not falling asleep. Cheesy Plus, I'll charge less points for things I made while hitting the books because they've already benefited me by making my life less boring. Hehehe.

Last week I made it through those midterms making this for pinkanddinky:

If you want to see some examples of other things I've made that I would be happy to work on while study, check out my webshots:

I would also be happy to try out other designs if you've seen something elsewhere that you like. Smiley

23  80s to modern! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by racehorse87 on: March 12, 2009 09:45:12 PM
I turned a pair of terrifying 80s earrings with a million things danging from them into a number of pairs of much more simple and elegant earrings. Smiley

Updated my shop to add some earrings that I made while studying!

They served half of their purpose already (ie: keeping me awake while I reviewed material for much longer than my brain wanted to), so I'm listing them for 1/2 point per pair. Smiley

Also, would anyone be interested in fabric flower brooches? Here's some pictures of ones I've made before:

Question! Would anyone be interested in this kind of bracelet if I took the time to put one or more together?

The somewhat eclectic shop of various crafty things!

Shop OPEN
Location: Canada
Stats: Pet-free (although I wish it weren't!), smoke-free

Loopy Bracelet 3 pt - (Custom Order) PM me if you want one of these, preferably before you order it. We can discuss colors and then I can go check out a bead store, but I might need more than a week to get it made and shipped off. (If I have all of the bead colors that I need already, I might make it 2 points)

Example of a loopy bracelet in ice blue, pearl, and silver-lined clear beads:

Loom Bracelet 2 pt - (Custom Order) PM me if you want one of these, preferably before you order it. We can discuss colors and then I can go check out a bead store, but I might need more than a week to get it made and shipped off. I can do essentially any pixelated design, although if it's really complex, I might make it 3 pt for the mental effort. Below are two examples:

Crocheted Cowboy Hat 3 pt SALE - 2 pt
Received from kidcompassion approximately 2 years ago. It's a beautiful hat and I fell in love with the idea of a crocheted cowboy hat. Unfortunately, I've always been too wimpy to wear it around my hometown. Thus, I would like it to go to the home of someone who can and will pull the hat off!  Cheesy

29  Native American Costume in Costumes: Completed Projects by racehorse87 on: January 16, 2009 09:49:09 AM
For New Years I went to a party themed "The Rootin' Tootin' West". I thought about being a cowboy, but a wise friend told me that there was a better way to dress. Wink

I am on the right.

The parts I made/reconstructed were:

The headband was made from an old belt that I found buried in my room.

The overskirt used to be a pair of leather short shorts. I sewed shut the pockets, straightened out the inseam, trimmed back the lining and then cut the fringe. I think it looks much better as a shirt. Cheesy

I also made my armband out of a large chunk of inseam leather from the short shorts.

The face painting was based on some other costume images I found on the web, especially this one:
http://www.properperiodproductions.com/judi_flowers_1600s.php

PS. Sorry for poor picture quality. Most of my pictures from that night are silly and not useful for seeing my costume.

One of the funnest parts was when a friend and I ran into two "Native American" guys. She asked them for a picture and they were kind enough to oblige. They had made themselves a canoe, but unfortunately it broke. Sad

In the end I was very glad to have gone as a Native American. There were way too many cowboys.

PS. If you are Native American, please forgive the inaccuracies in costuming and mannerisms. We really were trying, but could have probably benefited from a little more cultural knowledge.

30  Pink Sparkly Loopy Loom Bracelet of Iridescence! in Beads: Completed Projects by racehorse87 on: December 09, 2008 07:00:11 PM
While I was studying I decided that it would be a good idea to work on a project. While my brain is memorizing, my hands can work!

This is a "loopy loom" bracelet. It's going to be a surprise present for a friend!  Grin

Here is the glamour shot:

And a plain end-to-end aerial view:

I hope you like it. If anyone wants to know how it's done, it's fairly simple and I can try to explain. Smiley
