The material was from an antique store near me. I've been hitting up some pursemakers for their scrap, not because I want to underpay them, but because I'm having trouble finding the small amounts of the vintage stuff I like in good condition.

I'm mostly a beader, but I've begun a really torrid affair with vintage plastic and now I can't get enough of it.  I just had to share my latest.

I posted this question on another board but I think it was the wrong place.  Anyone that has used both of these bead stringing wires please give me your opinion.  I have used Beadalon 19 .015 for the majority of my projects for the last several years.  I have a used 49 a few times and do like it also except for the price.  How does Softflex compare to Beadalon.  I have some friends that have used Accuflex and dont care for it as much as Beadalon so I'm staying away from it.  I appreciate your insight.

I am about to try the cheap stuff (Acculon) and have always used softflex till now, but I'm curious to see how it performs.  I'm curious to see other people's opinions.

Softflex is wonderful, you can really weave with the fine stuff - it's overperformed for me, if anything. I'd probably trot it out for really complex patterns and important projects.

Manto Fev is a particularly neat little shop, but I could not seem to get their online cart to work for me last night.  I've been adding the plastic to my stash lately.

I also think if I were really motivated I'd go antiquing and thrifting and see what there is to pull apart myself.  Estate sales, esp.

My husband is really good about all this madness. He even wants to be my teaching guinea pig and learn peyote from me.  The one drawback is I have someone urging me to buy things in bead stores - I thought husbands were supposed to urge you NOT to buy things in bead stores 

I am really really lucky that he's so supportive and so into my things.

This first round was awesome and fun.  If anyone wants to do round 2 the theme is kitsch/lowbrow cheap and incorporating it into jewelry with beads - either with theme, materials or both.
