I finally finished the BBW #3850 shorts in seersucker fabric! I will post pictures as soon as I can get a decent shot of them.
The pattern was relatively easy for someone who hasn't sewn much (like me). The zipper instructions were a little harder than needed to be and you probably could have subsituted a lap zipper with fewer steps to complete. But overall, totally easy.
The shorts, although I measured myself and followed instructions to a "T", came out about two sizes too big in the hips. I read somewhere that Wendy is generous in her sizing and that couldn't be more true! So that is something to keep in mind when cutting your pattern out.
I also did the "top" pattern #3835 and I seriously think that was the easiest pattern in the world for a top that is quite cute and easily embellished with your own stuff. I'll post pictures of that, too, when I can get them.

I don't know if anyone said this or not, but it is important that your lipstick be matte. If there is any shine, it takes away from the era of the pin-up. Coty loose powder in the flower container (usually by the eyelashes and nail products) is really good for a finisher. Also, MAC makes a photo primer (I think that is what it is called), you put it on before any of your other makeup and your skin is flawless. Cat eyes with black liner on top only was the hot thing...I know that has been said.
