I loved this recipe when I got it out of the South Beach Diet Supercharged book, too.

So, I'd like to know if there is a tutorial or a definition of the technique that Shirin used to braid that waistline? I'm like, totally in love and awe and need to know how to do it, NOW.

There are also two SAS Fabric locations in the Valley. One on Indian School and the other on Northern (I think).
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: New Built by Wendy Patterns!!!! on: May 14, 2007 12:01:31 PM
I finally finished the BBW #3850 shorts in seersucker fabric! I will post pictures as soon as I can get a decent shot of them.

The pattern was relatively easy for someone who hasn't sewn much (like me). The zipper instructions were a little harder than needed to be and you probably could have subsituted a lap zipper with fewer steps to complete. But overall, totally easy.

The shorts, although I measured myself and followed instructions to a "T", came out about two sizes too big in the hips. I read somewhere that Wendy is generous in her sizing and that couldn't be more true! So that is something to keep in mind when cutting your pattern out.

I also did the "top" pattern #3835 and I seriously think that was the easiest pattern in the world for a top that is quite cute and easily embellished with your own stuff. I'll post pictures of that, too, when I can get them.

I just started working on the shorts last night with some great black/white seersucker. Dear God though, the zipper instructions are harder than I could have ever dreamed!
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Anyone know of a pattern that looks like one of these designs? on: February 23, 2007 10:00:03 AM
Built by Wendy just released some spring patterns....you can find them on simplicity.com. The only thing that would be similiar is the shorts. You could probably modify the pattern yourself to fit the ssame style of the Gap shorts.
8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: Help make me a pin-up girl! (need DIY photo/costume/hair/pose ideas!) on: January 19, 2007 12:40:11 PM
I don't know if anyone said this or not, but it is important that your lipstick be matte. If there is any shine, it takes away from the era of the pin-up. Coty loose powder in the flower container (usually by the eyelashes and nail products) is really good for a finisher. Also, MAC makes a photo primer (I think that is what it is called), you put it on before any of your other makeup and your skin is flawless. Cat eyes with black liner on top only was the hot thing...I know that has been said.
