So I heard about the old lite-brite toys , and I thought that it would be cool to make some wall-art from one. So I got a vintage set online, but it has arrived and I am not sure how it works. I thought they were supposed to light up with a bulb or something, but this one is a kind of black travel case with the holes in one side, with a slide-out panel that has a sheet of metallic surface stuck to it. There doesnt seem to be anywhere to put a light bulb or anything. It has all the black design sheets and the coloured transparent pegs, and the same Hasbro packaging as other I have seen online, but I am really stumped as to how it lights up. Did anyone here ever have a similar Lite-brite set? Any ideas how I can make it light up? Thanks :-)
I have been looking at those removable vinyl "Stickups" or "Priss prints" for decorating kids rooms, but am neither impressed with the cost or the images on them. I would like to make my own stickups, like flying seagulls or star wars tie fighter silhouettes that I can put up on a painted wall but that will peel off easily later. Does anyone know what this material is made of, and where I can find some? That would be cool.
I have dragged out and dusted off my spinning wheel and am ready to give it a go again. Was wondering if anyone knows a place to get good wool fleece for spinning? Preferably in Christchurch, or online. Also, where to find dyes specifically for wool? I have tried web searching but no luck so far.
