2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / March is National Craft Month on: February 28, 2006 06:02:34 PM
As any of you who subscribe to jo-ann mailings now, and then those who are just more in the loop then me, you know that:

MARCH IS NATIONAL CRAFT MONTH!!!!

So I say we have a craftalong simply for the month. One a day, a craft on any scale, big, small, practical or silly. One thing or many things, just something crafty each day for the month of march.

Tommorow is the first so I say by midnight create something that day and post it here so we can celebrate the craftiness 31 ways.

Hope you guys are interested....either way I will be attempting this, as it is a mini challenge for my current lack of motivation.

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / NEED HELP QUICKLY! on: December 21, 2005 06:47:51 AM
Hello, I have to make a very large bag for toting around school books and such for my couisn who is in tenth grade.

The problem is I feel insecure without some model to go by, and I have no idea of what I want to construct, I only know it has to go on one shoulder, so the straps will be moderate length and it has to hold a decent amount of stuff, and be a simple design. Can anyone who has any links to pictures or tutorials that you think would be helpful please please post them so I can go get the supplies today. Thanks a bunch in advance.
5  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Baby Boy on: November 15, 2005 07:45:37 AM
This is a baby quilt I made for my baby cousin, who's about six months now. I made it over the summer, but just now got around to posting it. I hope you like it, and I am trying to convince the mother (my aunt) to send me pics of the quilt I made for her daughter, which I made her sew the last edge of ( I had a plane to catch!) I think the one I made her is cuter, but this one rocks too in my opinion.

Me and the Quilt

In all its baby blanket glory.

Close up of the different clown positions.

Detail of the applique.

The back was a soft baby yellow fleece, and the front was a green cottom with cotton appliques. And I stole this from my aunts journal. Isnt the baby a cutsie?

Okay I cant steal the picture. But click on the link, his baby glory will be worth it. Hehe

Aww I miss them way too much! Oh and his name (which kicks much ass) is Giacommo Alexandro Vicenzo Carlone
6  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Breakfast anyone? on: November 15, 2005 07:33:09 AM
Here are some cards I painted with a friend.

The ones with white backgrounds blend into the page, but they are all the same size.
7  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Myspace. Anti. on: November 15, 2005 07:29:38 AM
I made this awhile back, I got the stencil from an LJ community. And I did the work in white on a black shirt for the boy, who is modeling it.

Enjoy, and sorry if this pushes any buttons, true myspace can be used for innocent and good reasons, just every person we know of that uses it, well they aren't the best people.
8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Picture Frames. This the right place? on: November 15, 2005 07:09:40 AM
Well I suppose it is since I dont know what category would be better, housewares perhaps? Anyway here are a few frames I have completed recently the first three are by me, the last was a gift from a friend, I like it lots so I thought I would share.

This is the petals from the first flowers he ever gave me, the petals are pressed between two pieces of glass, then I layed a photo on top and then glued another piece of glass. You can see the glue I used even though it dried clear. This was my first attempt at this idea. I am making more. I thought it was a good way to preserve my flowers, and keep pictures as well.

This one is just a frame I painted and put a polaroid in, I gave it to him as a surprise one night, the date is our anniversary and the chick/duck (was suppose to be a duck), is his favorite animal.

The most basic of all, a wood frame turned yellow. I think its pretty.

The one my friend made, its a bunch of little pictures glued to the tac board that is the backing for the frame. I like it lots.

Oh and by the way, this is my first crafty goodness post here. Enjoy!
9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Participant Guidelines. on: November 13, 2005 06:01:23 PM
So when the guidelines say minimum of 15 posts, do they mean...well they probably dont...but to be sure anyway, I will still ask. Do they mean 15 posts, replies or not, or 15 topics generated by a particular user. Either way I am not eligible for a swap right now, but I am curious for future reference. Thanks all and sorry if this is a bit too obvious an answer. I like to double and triple check my thoughts.
