2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: TSA proofing my crafting on: February 01, 2008 08:47:06 AM
I took bamboo needles with me to London (from Newark, NJ) and had no problems at all.  I knit happily the entire way.  If you simply cannot bring needles, how about making some good old-fashioned friendship bracelets.  You can befriend every student in you group! : )  Good luck and have fun in Spain!

Very pretty!  I think those are great.
4  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: what do you wish people told you before you became a vegetarian/vegan on: January 02, 2007 07:10:31 PM
Hmm, I wish someone had told me that it really is much easier than it seems (and to get rid of the meat & potatoes boy earlier* so I would feel free to go veggie sooner)

*for many reasons, not just an earlier start to vegetarianism : )
5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Book, magazine, paperback swap? on: January 01, 2007 03:11:42 PM

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: ready to tackle cables! on: December 17, 2006 04:35:40 PM
I just tackled my first cable project.  I made a hat for my sister from the free pattern at ww.littleturtleknits.com  It's the Mary Jane Pithy hat with modifications for the Elizabethtown hat.  That will make much more sense if you look at the pattern.  It was actually pretty easy.   The only annoying thing with the cable needle is when it falls out as you knit the other stitches, but other than that, easy peasy!  : )  Good luck!
7  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Alice in Wonderland on: December 03, 2006 08:11:22 AM
Your pieces are amazing!  I'm totally blown away.  Congratulations on a wonderful collection.  I hope you receive the stellar grade you clearly deserve!
8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Gift for someone who HATES YOU!? on: November 29, 2006 02:05:46 PM
I think in the spirit of the season you should make something that you know she would like.  Is there something the two of you both used to enjoy?  Do you know what she's into now?  Maybe it'd be a nice gesture of goodwill.  That's a tough position to be in.  Good luck!  If you give us more ideas about what the person is into I'm sure you'd receive more suggestions!
9  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: Welcome to the Vegetarian / Vegan board! on: November 24, 2006 09:02:56 PM
This is great!  I'm always on the look-out for new recipes.  The edamame succotash sounds great!  Trader Joe's makes something like it called Soy-ccotash.  Yummy!

Knit yourself a li'l voodoo doll.

Yes!  Excellent!  Therapeutic!  Be sure to give the voodoo doll a little hat.  : )
