14  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / i love ari! on: July 01, 2007 04:38:26 PM

15  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / first ever stencil project! regina spektor shirt on: July 01, 2007 04:38:12 PM
i had $50 to burn, and some time on my hands, so i decided to pick up a new craft:  stencilling with freezer paper.  wow.  its amazing and soo addicting.

i first decided to be really ambitious and do a regina spektor shirt because her album cover seemed too easy to make into a stencil.  not as easy to cut out though...

here it is drying!

and again...

and here is the finished product (i got a little excited, sorry for the photoheaviness!)

i tried to paint over where i accidentally got paint on the shirt, and then i realized that the white wasn't the same as the shirt...oops!

i absolutely love it, mistakes and all!

thanks!dominique

18  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / washing merino wool-HELP! on: March 01, 2007 12:05:48 PM
i recently knit my first pair of socks!  i used knitpicks memories, which is 100% merino wool.  i have been wearing them often, so now they are a bit dirty.  problem is, i have no idea how to wash them!  i understand i can "handwash," but i need more specifics than that.  ((do i use soap?  what kind?  what water temperature?  etc.))

thanks!
19  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Plain Boyfriend Hat on: February 27, 2007 06:52:37 PM
my boyfriend zeke loooooves hats.  so for christmas (i know i am so late on the post) i knit him one!  he loves it (i hope!) and wears it ALL THE TIME.  i used the basic hat pattern from Last-Minute Knitted Gifts, and Lion Brand Wool-Ease in avacado.

it is a basic roll brim hat.

i think it suits him...

# of Flakers:  1 (3 total, but the first 2 are taken care of)

You will be angeling for Irish_belle

What crafts can you do well?
I can't knit, just a wee bit of sweing, i can stencil, but usually i craft something cute together!

What crafts would you like to receive?
I really don't know.. maybe a HP themed xmas stocking, ive never had a stocking.. ohhh, a slytherin scarf would be awesome! My favourite houses are slytherin and gryffindor (ohh, original!)

Any crafts you would NOT like to receive?
No quote books, notecards, paintings (if the person isn't so hot at painting) - i have absolutely no use for these things, and I just end up dumping them a few weeks later

Would you want to receive a Christmas at Hogwarts Package, or just a regular HP swap package?
Half and half!

Do you have any allergies?
Some form of penecillin.. but i don't think thats relevant here!

Who is your favorite character?
Lily Potter, Ron Weasley, The marauders, Ginny, Tonks (I'm so fickle! Sorry! At least theres a selection :])

What is your favorite house?
Slythering and Gryffindor

Which book is your favorite?
Order of the Phoenix

Anything else you want your partner to know about you or about your expectations for this swap: last swap I did was my first, I put a lot of effort into it and i recieved a really dissapointing package in return from a "experienced" crafter. Now, I'm not the worlds best crafter... but i really would appriciate if the person would use their imaginations and not rehash what someone else has done in the past, I'm going to try my best and thats what i want in return.

please PM me to angel!

also, irish_belle is outside the USA.
