2  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / 7 yr olds bday/halloween party on: September 23, 2008 09:21:24 PM
My daughters birthday is halloween!!!
This year i want to throw her a halloween inspired party now thats shes at a good age for it, shes turning 8.
I know i want the kids in costume and i dont know how scary/creepy i can get without pissing fellow parents out.

So i need ideas for
-invitations (wording, ideas, anything!!)
-food(not snacks i have that handled, like real food)
-games(new, exciting, time consuming games)
-anything really for 7-8yr olds

should the parents stay? or should i shoo them out? I could make spooky cocktails for them but thats just like an extra party and extra money i dont want to spend. haha.

Sign-up date range:

Date to send item by:
First sendout 08/23/07, Second 09/10/07 (tentatively)

Limited to a certain number of people? (optional): no
Non-U.S. participants allowed? yes
All ages allowed? Or 18+? all ages, but below 18, get permission from parents
Organizer is aware of current list of "suspended traders"
list and will not allow those members to participate: YES
Organizer meets the 4 conditions for swapping and will make sure that every participant meets these conditions: YES

Details of swap:
The purpose of this swap is to trade journals with 2 swappers who will write in the journals and send them back and forth continuously (like penpals, only with a journal that contains all the letters).

Each swapper will send 1 journal to one partner, and recieve 1 journal from another partner(first send out>>08/23/07). Once you recieve your partner's journal, respond and send back (Tentative second send date 09/10/07, this will depend on when international swappers recieve).

After journals are sent back, the 'official' part of the swap will end and only then I'll give feedback, so everyone is free to decide if they want to keep sending.  Hopefully everyone will find someone they want to keep talking to!

**The first entries should have an about me section, but feel free to write, draw or add anything you want.  Journals can be homemade, bought, decorated or not.  Have fun with this!

I know this is sorta confusing, so here's an example of how this will be set up:
Sally, Jane, and Jill all buy one journal, decorate it and write a letter in the begginning.
Sally sends hers to Jane, Jane sends hers to Jill, Jill sends hers to Sally.
So, then Sally recieves Jills, Jane recieves Sally's and Jill recieves Janes.
Sally's partners are Jane and Jill, Janes partners are Sally and Jill, and Jills are Sally and Jane.
Then once the ladies have recieved, Sally writes back to Jill, Jane writes back to Sally, and Jill writes back to Jane.
Then Sally sends to Jill, Jane sends to Sally, Jill sends to Jane.

It's a lot like a round robin swap, but with a second part where you send back in opposite round robin order.  All things said and done, you should only have 1 journal to work on at a time, and you can end up with 2 great penpals.  I hope this clears things up, there have been a lot of questions.

Its about that time of year again...
-Basically for all who dont already know it goes a little something like this...
You make or decorate a journal and fill it as if its your journal then send it on to your partner and you can continue to send it back and forth and so on..
.
