1061  Florida / Florida: Central / Re: Craftsters in Clearwater/Saint Petersburg area? on: August 04, 2005 08:57:54 AM
I live in south St Petersburg, though I'm moving in a month or two. It would be nice to meet fellow artisians before I move though. ^_^

Feel free to e-mail, PM, or IM me.  Tongue
1062  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Golf Ball Time Key (Sailor Pluto Prop!) on: August 04, 2005 08:40:00 AM
Aieee! So cool! Definitely the best Sailor Pluto costume I've seen ^_^

I should have used PVC with Saturn's staff. The entire thing was hand carved out of oak by a neighbor of mine. But when I got to the con, they wouldn't let be bring it in because it qualified as a dangerous weapon.

1063  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Slide Lamps... i know they've been done PICS! on: August 04, 2005 08:30:14 AM
So cool! I have old slides taken of Korea and Japan from when my dad was stationed in the air force there. I have been looking for ways to use them for a long time. Thanks for the enlightenment. ^_<

nifty ^_^

I have a few things like this attached to my cell phone. Now it's much easier to find around the house, since my boyfriend and mother have the same model of phone! Tongue

1070  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Re: DC numbers on: July 30, 2005 08:42:10 AM
I've been selling a few things on e-bay and have found the same problems with DC's. Plus our post office is always crowded and everything I've shipped with them has gotten damaged in some way. I have a feeling that it's just my branch though. So I avoid it like the plague.

Now I go to the UPS store. Nothing ever broke with them...yet... and I get a tracking number for just shipping ground. Might be a little more expensive, but I find it's worth the peace of mind (esp. if you have to go to my local post office!) ^_^.

Something I've been doing though is scanning the parcel shipping order slip and e-mailing it to the buyer. This gives them all the possible information on their package and lets them know I'm on top of things. Perhaps this could stand in for a DC number if there are problems attaining one? It proves that you sent it and does give a shipping order number that I believe you can call and ask about if there are no other tracking numbers. Might be good for swaps too...

I could be wrong though. I'm just a newbie here :-p
