[THANKS AGAIN PHILDUDE!!!]

Eh, I'm totally triple posting here. But whatever, I'll just be a thread hog! 

So Phildude and I did a personal swap after I complimented her own her awesome beaded necklaces found here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=262098.0 Sorry these pics are so late Phildude! I know these are LOOOONNNGGG overdue. Moving, the flu and family/relationship crises are what I'm gonna use as an excuse there...lol

So I made her a belly dancing hip scarf and veil in return for a beaded choker that would match my new blue bedlah! (that means a matching bra and belt set) I got to pick the beads and everything. She did a fantastic job! It was made with care and love and I'm sure it will bring me good luck when I perform. There is even a spiral design in the center of the choker part.

I actually didn't take pictures of the hip scarf and veil i sent Phildude, so its up to her to post them, I wanted to rush the package off to the post office. :-)

Happy Samhain everyone!!!

I opened my Samhain gifty to reveal this! (Now I know why the bundle smelled so good! Its a wreath made from dried apple slices!) It was wrapped in this cute pumpkin cloth that smells like the wreath now so I'm going to iron it and use it as a table runner for tonight's feast. I'll post pictures of that too I think, lol.



Thank you LunaKitten! I only opened it like 5 minutes ago and my room already smells fantastic!
Just one question, because I know my husband will ask me later. Are these meant to be eaten? Or is it made to be a potpourri wreath for display only?

Here is the whole lot, what I understood from my partner was that her style was a kind of Tribal Gothic Fusion, so I made everything in a deep Sangria color with a black trim. (it looks lighter in the pictures though) I made a face veil and a dance veil. The dance veil has a rhinestone skull on one of the corners. When I did a "test run" with this veil at class the skull always ended up draped over the front of my right hand, it looked nice. 



I included a CD I came across for a bonus item and packed everything with a dozen glittery black roses. I got really into the Gothic theme...lol

Here is an action shot of the face veil, It's slipping on me because it's not tied tight enough on me. I didn't want to knot the ribbons in the back because she can do that to her liking and then just slip it over her head when she wears it. Disregard the fact that I'm on my phone, my DH called from work during the photo shoot, lol.

Kwan Yin now resides over my bedroom / new home office! She reminds me to think "peace,passive,calm" in moments of calamity...and to have more compassion for people...


See? I really am a CLOSET WICCAN. But the altar cloth works perfectly. It covers the shelf and hangs just about 2 inches off the floor...it's like she sneaked in and took measurements...lol

wow, everyone's packages were amazing!!!

I received my awesome package from LunaKitten Tuesday night and meant to post pictures sooner, but I wanted to get an action shot of everything on my altar and an another of her art on my wall. Then I realized that my room was in complete disarray and I should probably wait to clean it before setting up my altar (My dad was in town visiting, so I broke it down and put it away.) Even though my altar is built into my walk-in closet I'm used to leaving the doors open and my dad is nosy and very judgmental...or maybe just mental...lol So there are action shots to come that I will be posting soon.

Anyway, LunaKitten--this is definitely a package to be proud of so I did the best I could to photograph everything to the best of my amateur ability...lol I love everything and will treasure the items for many years to come. :-)


Here's an overall pic of the loot, you can see the Samhain gift all wrapped up in pumpkin cloth...I dunno what it is...but it smells wonderful...candles? Soaps? Candy? What could it be?!?!!!


The beautiful watercolor of Kwan Yin she painted. It's a good sized painting too! I love this and it's going on my wall as soon as I cleanse my space today.


Here's a close-up of her serene face. Actually, I wanted to decorate the living room with a Zen theme when I move into my new house in a few months...how did you know?? 


She sent me a hand painted Bast box too! To funny! This one is nice and deep though and I'm going to use it for my tarot cards.


Lots of room, I could probably fit two or three decks in there!


The georgeous batik altar cloth she made me, and its reversible! I may use black for Samhain and turn it to the purple side during "normal time"


The itty bitty starfish charms on the corners show how much love and detail she puts into her crafts! I'm very much a water element. I literally live on an island surrounded by it and it's a part of my daily life whether I'm commuting over the bridges or going to the beach. 


She also made me this lovely Tarot pouch that matches. I had asked for a matching one in my questionnaire I think and she came through! Thanks!


Here's the pretty lotus medallion she made, this will probably be hung by my altar and worn with my purple robes at festivals.


And last but not least, her are the adorable witches broom and hat she made to decorate my altar with for the season. 

Thank you SO much LunaKitten! I love everything! I'll return your previous compliment by saying I couldn't have asked for a better partner!

Ok, here's what I sent Therisa 



A hip scarf with lots of jingly coins on it. I also added some beaded dangle embellishments in the center and on each end of the scarf to match the jewelry I made to match.



This is a headdress, the points can be worn on the forehead like a circlet. The "coins" are made from pink seashell.



This is the matching slave bracelet and earrings.



Everything together, and a practice CD we use in my belly dance class.

 Thanks for all the wonderful info! It makes perfect sense now. I just have to be careful when I'm doing wrist circles in dance not to face my palms at people. 

So here's my package pictures as promised...I really need daylight to capture the detail in these items, so I'll lay them out on my bed and snap an additional picture when the sun comes up. The bathroom light just wasn't enough to make these pictures turn out right.

I received a wonderful package from Therisa today. In it were two pairs of harem pants, one a luxurious red silk! The other was this really neat pattern on cotton that will work with my more tribal dance attire. She also included a face veil from her travels to Sinai and another veil. I'm probably wearing it wrong, and these are probably called different things, I'll have to Google it later to learn how it is worn. Feel free to correct me though, lol. She also included a postcard from Tunisia that will be in the group pic that I'll add later.



Aren't they great? 



I am wearing these right now and they are the most comfortable things you could ever wear. They are so light!
