41  Re: Witch/Wiccan/Pagan Swap 10 Ostera Card Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Saturn on: March 06, 2009 08:59:44 AM
I'm a bit behind on my card organizing, sorry folks. Ended up in San Diego last minute for a conference, lol! But I came home to a plethora of beauteous cards. And I'll be letting loose with a ton of updating after this, and get everyone caught up.  Cheesy Grin Wink

I love opossums, and this is the cute card I received from Phnxreign99. What could be cuter than baby opossums in a basket? Cheesy

This pretty card is from Windoverireland, the sticker things are made of delicate translucent plastic bits, really pretty! It contained spring poetry. :-)

Gorgeous hand drawn card from Toby, it's awesome and shimmery. He also included a charka charm with wings. ^_^

Beautiful paper-craft card from Lunakitten, she even drew a little opossum o the envelope! She included seeds to plant ^_^

Neato card from Jenna_Gayle. The flower is actually wooden! She also included seeds to plant. ^_^

Sweet card by Feywalker, she included beautiful poetry inside also.

I think that's it so far.

Thanks everyone for the cards! Beautiful work!

I've received from Hardyswanton01! Here's the awesome loot!

A gorgeous lap quilt for the cottage! I'm totally in love with the colors, it's so gypsy-esk! Sometimes my belly dance studio does a movie night and I will definitely be bringing this along with me!

So much detail and hard work! She totally blew my mind with this! I don't know weather to drape it over the side of the couch, spread it over the end of my bed, or hang it on the wall somewhere!

A cute witchy bag to tote my hip scarfs, zills and what-not to practice.

Gorgeous envelopes of fantasy and natural prints.

Thank you so much Hardyswanton! you put so much work into what you made for me. I definitely love it all. The quilt is a beautiful work of art and a keepsake that will grace my house forever. Thanks chickie!

I got my wonderful card from Ronda today!  The card had a belly dancer angel on it, with a cute tribal looking fairy on the envelope! The note inside was beautiful, and she included a charm with a broom, a kitty, and a circle of flowers that reminds me a lot of a bindhi. Thank you so much Ronda! The charm is already on my cell phone, hopefully it will drive away phone arguments, lol. Here's the pics:

Thanks again! ^_^

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just a couple things before I send you on your way with this--

*Be sure to REMOVE Crosswind (or cross her out) from your list on the thread because she is not participating in this swap.
*Be sure to ADD Jenna_Gayle to the list, she was a last minute addition (Welcome Jenna! Smiley)
*ALWAYS remember to cross members off on your list as you receive cards from them. This is how I can keep track of everyone's progress--and yours too! Everyone's lives are busy, but I ask that you cross them out within a few days of receiving the card. Just in case- this is done by going to your Quickie Questionnaire in the card thread, clicking "modify", highlighting that person's name and clicking on the slash button next to the underline button.
*ALWAYS post pictures of the cards you receive. You can post them as you get them or wait until you get several of them together to post pics. Remember that anything is better than nothing at all, if you don't have a camera, cell phones and webcams work too! and you can always hit "reply all" and ask us to take pics of your card before we send it to you.
* CHIT-CHAT! Feel free to post in the thread and get to know your fellow swappers. :-)

Blessed Be!

I've received from my wonderful angel, Spotnik!!!

She sooooo spoiled me! Anyway, here's the loot!

I had suggested a tribal coin bra since I don't fit into any of the ones I've seen for sale, and she came through with this beauty!

Its so pretty! The pic doesn't do it justice...the amount of thought and detail that went into it's design is amazing, and it must have taken ages to sew all of that on!!! It's very my style too, I'm a beach bum and I love shells! All of the "coins" are made from shells. And it fits perfect!!!

Beautiful long silky veil, its a little heavy, so I wear it as a wrap skirt! This is the coolest fabric ever!!

Then, she went above and beyond and included some matching jewelry!

Awesome hair sticks that match the bra!

Some of the most delicate little bracelets I have ever seen, that have a nice jingle to them!

and a matching necklace! Yay! The look is complete!

Thank you so much Spotnik! You definitely went above and beyond the call of a swap angel. You spoiled me rotten, I feel like the luckiest girl on Craftster! Thanks again! Grin Grin Grin

I'm headed to the beach this weekend of the weather is good for some action shots of me in my costumes, I'll update with another pic if they come out good!

I had a "DOH!" moment today when I went to get something out of the fridge, and realized that I didn't take pictures of the gem magnets that came in my package from BTStars! Sorry BT! It's just that when I brought my package home I got excited and put everything up and to use! lol.

pretty!

She also sent me pine cones, like I've never seen before! The one on the LEFT is one she sent me, and the one on the Right is one I had that is typical to where I live. The ones I got from her are solid and hard, whereas ours here in Florida are brittle. This might make some of you smirk, but this Florida girl thought they were cool! lol.

***********************************************************
But this is a good opportunity to post my surprises from Windoverireland and Ronda!

OMGoddess...I love bath bombs. DH thought they were edible at first! lol!

Sari fabric to be put to good use as a Beladi dress!

Thanks guys! This swap has been awesome!

47  Re: Witch/Wiccan/Pagan swap rd 9 Yule/Winter Holiday Card Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Saturn on: January 03, 2009 02:46:08 PM
Alrighty, I've been meaning to get to this for a while now. Before I took one pic of several of cards laid out on my floor, and whereas it did the job in the minimal amount of time I had last month, it didn't show the detail and talent all of you put into your cards. So I present, Saturn's Yule Card Montage Post!

BTstars: She did a card of all the holidays of the wheel, this one is staying up so my DH can remember the dates!
Lunakitten: I love the winter sprite, this is gorgeous!
RondaS: That fairy picture on her called is called "cloak of Stars" by Amy Brown, I used to have a framed poster of it over my couch in my first apartment! Sadly, My ex stole it, lol.
WindoverIreland, I love the pentacle, and the Kitchen Witches Creed on the back, lovely! I thought about stenciling quotes from in around my kitchen.

Ariaya:Your photo shop skills are amazing!
Phildude: Love your cute drawing of a snow fairy!

Robotarsenist: I love your papercrafts! The stag head is awesome!
Shadeweaver: I adore the shimmery winter fairy! Cute!

Estatic: Fuzzy trees!
Mrs.Zeddies: Love the card! Big shiny gold pentacle!

Solitaire: This is so neat! I've never seen anything quite like it! Beautiful!

Thanks everyone for sending me cards and participating in this awesome swap! We'll do it again for Ostera! (With a new and improved system to keep track, lol!)

I've received from BTStars last week so I'll post my loot! :-)

First off, this awesome apron featuring Vesta, Buddha, Kwan Yin and Bast--all deities that I listed as being special to me.

Cheesy action shot--in my new cottage!

A pretty Triple Goddess symbol clock.

A spoon wand, from my wists! It now sits above my stove on my windowsill.

A house blessing kit, these are to be buried at the 4 points around my home. She included directions in a nice letter she wrote me. :-)

She sent a postcard, that has already made it to my bulletin board.

The rest of the empty space in the box was filled with pinecones, that now sit arranged on my kitchen shelves. :-)

Then....my yule gift!!!

I had joked that the stove in my new kitchen was a 1950 "Magic Chef" seen here:

So she made me these!!!! I love em!!!!

Thank you so much BTStars! Everything is wonderful and will be enjoyed for years to come. You did awesome as a first time swapper! Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Happy Yule everyone!

50  Triquetra Stained Glass Mosaic Sun Catcher (pic obease) in Glass Crafts: Completed Projects by Saturn on: November 26, 2008 09:27:49 AM
Hey there,
Just thought I'd share this piece that I made over the summer when I was watching to much Charmed on TV and at my Aunts house in MA. It's meant to have the appearance of stained glass, but it's really a mosaic made out of a picture frame with the back removed and the glass super glued in. The glass pieces were picked up from a stained glass shop. They are the scrap pieces of glass cutters. The pieces were glued in using weld-bond glue and then filled in with black grout. The result is something that looks like a pretty convincing stained glass window:

Heres the back:

You gotta make sure that the glass piece is really glued in the frame good, or it could pop out when you are putting your pieces down.

Thanks for looking!
