Harvest Time Healing Samhain card Swap Gallery!

Everyone should have nearly all their cards right now so...here's the gallery! Remember you can take a group shot of the cards since there are so many of them, you might even want to include a picture of how you have them displayed like my example above. Thanks everyone for participating and have a great Samhain!

On a personal note, I loved all my cards, and the inclusions are wonderful! Thank you so much, some of you really made some sweet little things! I was blown away! Thanks for making this wonderful, I will be using all the inclusions on Samhain. Smiley

If I am right, there are still 6 people waiting for packages, correct? I want to make sure feedback is given correctly for all those involved.

Thanks!

Superhooker PMed me saying she received last week...so I guess I'll go ahead and post what I sent her too...

I made her a mini altar "starter" set, it all can get put into the sack, which is lined and is roomy enough for more items should she wish to add them. The matching altar cloth is reversible, the back of the cloth is kind of tie-dye looking.

The lined drawstring sack, the ends of the drawstrings have glass beads on them to match. It has three sides to it, so it can fit quite a bit.

She asked for a talisman, so this is what I came up with. A shell cut so the chambers show, with sea-green and gold beads woven through it, and a tiny bit of wire wrapping.

I also sent her a note done in my attempts at calligraphy, sealed with wax (sealing wax is my new favorite thing...lol) and a witchy sticker, plus a shell that can be used for incense. Smiley

13  Harvest Time Healing Samhain card Swap (Sign-ups CLOSED) Due Oct. 15th in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by Saturn on: September 20, 2010 05:54:01 PM

Harvest Time Healing Samhain card Swap

NOTE: Since there will be sharing of a mass list of addresses involved, I'm going to limit it to people who have been involved in Witch-Wiccan-Pagan swaps only, or those who intend to join in next round. This swap is the product of conversations occurring in the WWP Summer Solstice Swap thread, where we discussed occurrences where spiritual healing and general encouragement could be welcomed and helpful in the healing process of a variety of issues. We are re-visiting this project for Samhain. http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=347617.190

So if you haven't swapped in a WWP swap before, or intend to be a part of the next one, I kindly ask that you wait until we decide to do a bigger card swap, this one is a mini, and although we don't like to leave anyone out--we intend to keep it a small number. Thanks, and I hope this doesn't offend as my intentions are not to do so. We love all of our fellow Craftsters.

NOTE:  For this swap you will be sending a card to each participant. If you join this swap, you may be crafting a dozen cards with a small inclusion. (like a small stone,  pressed flower, or personal note)

Swap name: WWP Harvest Time Healing Samhain Card Swap
Craftster member who is organizing this swap: Saturn
Sign-up date range: 9/20-9/24 (Due Friday just before midnight)
Date to send item by: Oct. 15th

Limited to a certain number of people? A dozen-ish, trying to stay small

Restricted to people who all live in the same country? NO

Additional Age requirement? No, but do make sure that if you are underage that your parents are ok with WWP themes...we don't want angry letters back.

Swap Organizer himself/herself meets these conditions:
- Has fully read the Swap Info Guide: YES
- Has successfully completed two swaps as a participant: YES
- Is not organizing more than three swaps right now: YES
- Will recruit a co-organizer or give all details to a Swap Moderator if this swap has more than 25 participants: YES
- Is at least 18 years old: Yes
Swap Organizer will check each participant to make sure they meet these conditions:
- Has been a member for at least one month: YES
- Has posted at least 15 times: YES
- Has completed one swap successfully before signing up for multiple swaps at a time: YES
- Is not currently signed up for more than five swaps: YES
- Does not have any negative feedback: YES
- Participant has agreed that he/she is at least 16 years old: YES
- If within the US, understands that Delivery Confirmation number is required for this swap: (Just tell me that you sent it, its a card, I'll just check numbers at the end to make sure everyone has received from everyone)
- If outside the US, understands that a mailing receipt copy is required for this swap: It's not.

Details of swap:

Keeping in mind that you don't have to necessarily individualize each card, but you most certainly can if you want.

Some "Healing" ideas for cards could be:

-Spells, Chants, Prayers, meditative thoughts, quotes to ponder
-Just a friendly note or letter of encouragement, personal or general
-A "comfort food" recipe!!!
-A packet of lavender
-Seeds for a window garden
-a packet of bath salt for a anti-stress bath
-powdered incense/sage leaves for smudging space of negativity
-small stones having to do with calming, healing, (aventurine for money worries) etc. They sell itty bitty ones at some metaphysical stores for a dime.
-pressed flowers to remind us to stop and smell the flowers and enjoy the little things life brings us...
-Share your favorite type of tea bag, there are many companies that make an anti-stress type.
-Pretty pictures or drawings of calming places or things...
-bookmarks to encourage us to take time out and read! (I'm guilty of this one, I have 3 new untouched books!)
- a little charm or pendant infused with good vibes
- a shell or a stone from a threatened beach/forest/lake etc. with a request to channel in some good healing energy to help preserve it.

These are just some things that came to mind but I'm sure we can think up more.
...

Here's what I got from Superhooker on Tuesday! Meant to post these the night after I got them, it's been a busy week! Whew!

But she sent me a wonderful package, thank you so much SH! You were so thoughtful and I can only hope that you like your package as much as I do this one! And the DH and I LOVE, LOVE the homemade/homegrown blueberry preserves...and the fact that they are from an area where I spent time as a kid makes them even more heartwarming. Smiley

The first item is this awesome altar box--it's huge! And I can use the top surface as an altar! How awesome is that? I think I have my first item goin' with me to Yulefest. Smiley I can fit ALL of my altar stuff in this thing. Including my BOS, a few small books, and my tarot cards! The hinges broke off the back in transit, there's no damage to the box though, I just need to screw them back in. The pentacle is lovely, it's so hard to paint a pentacle so symmetrical like that, I'm impressed!

Candles! On any given weekend, my house is glowing with candles...I love to tidy my house and cleanse the space to help me unwind. She made these beauties out of two colors of blue/purple wax and the tins have suns on them. They smell lovely! (What is the scent Superhooker?)

The homemade/homegrown blueberry preserves I mentioned earlier...as you can see they are half-gone already! Smiley

Anyone who's ever gotten my questionnaire knows that I've been on a search for the perfect salt/water dishes for my altar made from natural materials and small enough for my small-scale altar---and she found some for me! One is carved green Jade I think...and I'm wondering what the other is...yellow jade? citrine? They are GORGEOUS! Thank you sooo much!

This pic didn't really focus to well, but she got me some heavenly-smelling "witches brew" incense and made a beautiful card of a blue door.

Thanks again for the lovely package!!! *hugs*! Smiley

Thought I would post what I sent to MoonRaven since she said she has already received from me. Sadly it seems like I'm the only one who stuck with the "3 smalls". I feel like an underachiever now...but I did literally bleed in the process of making one of these items...so take that for what it is...lol

We thought this package was lost in the mail at first, but it seems to have made it's way there. Sadly, MoonRaven's package to me was lost. Is it just me or has the post office been really unreliable lately? They broke a computer my DH sold on Ebay last week. Roll Eyes

What is not shown here is the sand dollar I sent her, because we were trading things from where we live.

I cut, sanded, and drilled the shells the make up the bracelet. The shells were found on our local beaches here in FL. It was harder than I thought it would be to make shell beads, and my fingers hate me for it, lol. But I think the finished product is nice, and perhaps I'll revisit a project like this with some better tools. The parts I cut are thicker than the thin versions you can buy in craftstores, and are larger. I decided against cutting shells for the earrings, and instead found those pendants at the bead store and added the hardware and there's spiral shapes at the top. The bag is sewn from brocade and is lined.

Here are my pics from the super awesome package that Wulf sent me! I still want an action pic of the skirt but the weather is super gloomy and rainy, and my house is all dim and stuff...so here's these for now. Smiley Sorry the pics and the feedback was kinda late, I ended up on a quick vacation out of town.

Wulf, you totally spoiled me! Thank you so much!

A cute little overskirt with some pretty embroidery, one of my skirts is the exact same shade of pink in the flowers.

An awesome bag with brass horses and coin trim. It has inner pockets for all my zills, henna supplies, and bindis! This is definitely going to faire with me this year!

Earrings in the exact colors of my troop costume, they're perfect! Good find!

More spoilage! Classic tapes of belly dance music!

I'm a tea fiend, and this is some of the best tea I've ever had. Thank you so much Wulf!!! I even brought some in a baggie on vacation with me so I could enjoy it on my trip!

Some classic reading on Gypsy Sorcery! If you've ever been in a WWP swap with me, you know I'm really into this stuff!!!

A cute little bell that is getting sewn to one of my belts! It's adorable, brass, and loud for such a lil' thing! Smiley

THANK YOU SO MUCH WULF!!! Everything is fantastic, and I feel totally spoiled!  Grin Grin Grin I even love the appropriate note tags that you pinned onto everything, you went into such great detail! Smiley

Hi Everyone! I'm going to go ahead and post my pictures and gratitude for all the cards. I have received ALL of my cards and they are awesome! I want to thank EVERYONE for being a part of something so great and beneficial for the spirit, and hopefully in the near future we can do something like this again. Smiley "Turning of the Wheel Motivational Samhain Card Swap" anyone? Hehe Smiley

This is from hawkeyes_girl: It contained a lovely spell to help with my relationship. Smiley You are soooo thoughtful! Now to go get rosemary and rose oil! Smiley

This lovely oak tree card is from kmichele_craftyfae, and contained a lovely aventurine to help me in my job search! It's even drilled so I can make it into a pendant. Smiley

From DanniQuee, I knew the minute I opened my mailbox this morning that there was a lovely lavender surprise waiting for me, hehe! I was right, lavender bath salts! They smell so lovely that I have them on my desk at the moment and the entire office has the relaxing scent of lavender. Smiley I also love the crayons and the nice quote that went along with it.

From Ladyblades. This pretty card came with a tea blossom! I was going to use it and take a pictures of the results in a glass but I wanted the DH to be home so he could see and taste the results too, lol. I'm excited! I'll post a pic of that later.

This is from edelc, a lovely picture of her garden in Ireland with a sprig of dried sage! I'm going to keep it in my BOS on the page about using Sage. Smiley

This hand-painted card is from RippledWater, look how she even painted the back, too cute!  Smiley On top of that she included a perfect dream catcher!! I say perfect because I have always liked the concept of a dream catcher and wanted one, but I never really found one that "spoke" to me, and most of them are southwestern decor, and wouldn't fit in with my house. But this one is perfect! It's very goddess-like and I love the vine circle and the white feathers and clay beads! I hung it up immediately, and so far no nightmares. Smiley

This gorgeous water-color painting with a transparency on-top with healing words is by Wulf! It's getting framed and put on the wall in my desk area! It's soo pretty! I have it by LunaKitten's painting of Kawn Yin I got many WWP swaps ago and I was thinking to myself how cool it could be to start a collection of Goddess art. Smiley Is she supposed to be any particular Goddess Wulf? She's gorgeous, and I love how she's in water.  Smiley

This pretty flower card is from spazgirl1981, she included an affirmation coin and an itty bitty key! I'm going to put it on my charm necklace. Smiley

Last but not least, this is from Ffrogg526. It a beautiful treble clef, that reminds me of a stained glass window. She included info on citrine, but I'm sad to report that the one she included must have gotten pressed out of the envelope. When I received it there was a hole at the bottom . Sad

Thank you everyone that participated! This was wonderful, and I will be leaving feedback for everyone very soon.

I invite you all to post pictures of your cards (a group shot is fine) or post how you are using/displaying/etc your cards and/or inclusions.

Thanks much!
Saturn. Smiley

Gypsy Swap Round 2

We had a great time in the Gypsy Swap and there were people asking about a Round 2, even before Round 1 sign-ups ended! So in the next round, Signups are until this Saturday, June 19th and the send out date is July 23rd. You will be responsible for completing one of the following package requirements:

1. 1 LARGE and 2 SMALLS
-or-
2. 1 LARGE and 1 MEDIUM

-with the option to do more, but that is entirely up to you and your partner.  Wink

Here is the gallery from Swap 1:

Please send only items that relate the theme in some way unless they are "extras" to spoil your partner. If you are outside of the USA, I require a scan or legible photo of your receipt or customs form to prove that you have sent if you do not purchase a tracking number. I encourage all participants to post in this thread or send me a PM at least on a weekly basis.

This swap's theme is the mysterious and often misunderstood world of the gypsies. Your crafts can range from costume pieces and exotic jewelery to treasures that look like they were brought from distant lands. Let your creative mind wander as far as the sand dunes to the East and as long as the Silk Road.
