1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Re: Brick stitch framed focal beads***TUTORIAL ADDED*** on: December 18, 2010 08:39:40 AM
What a fun project! Thanks for posting this tutorial, especially with such great pictures! Smiley I gave brick stitch a try for the first time, and came up with some cute earrings. I'm trying to figure out how to post a pic directly from my iPhone...

I'm curious though, how do you hide the ends of your threads? I kinda weaved them in and clipped them as short as I could, but you can kind of see the end poking out between beads. Only if you're looking for it, probably, but I just wondered if there was a better way. Smiley

Wow, you did an amazing job! I love the bodice and I'm super impressed with your work on the gathering of such a gauzy fabric. Smiley Kudos to you for all your patience and hard work paying off in a fabulous dress!

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Jeans for my GF (PIC HEAVY) on: May 16, 2010 06:13:41 AM
very impressive! i've tried to make jeans before and they fit okay, but these are much more amazing than anything i've ever made! i think nice looking jeans are such hard work! great details really make your work look professional.  Smiley
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: one yard of fabric= great dress on: May 05, 2010 12:46:06 PM
thanks for your feedback, cicile! i'm wondering if i can get around having to have a zipper or button by adding another piece of elastic in the back of the top. that way, no gapping and still able to slide the dress on over my head. i have a store-bought sundress with a similar design to it, and it has to "rows" of elastic. now i guess i know why! Smiley i'll let ya know how if works out if i can get to it later this week. i'm busy working on a new purse today!

super cute dress, and awesomely simple tutorial!  Smiley

i'm curious about the back - does it have a cowl-ish draping effect in the back? i've been looking at your tutorial and thinking of making a dress for myself. but i was wondering about the back of the "top" part and think i might be missing something. if the elastic is at the top of the "bottom," what prevents the top of the "top" from gaping in the back? or did you cut your "top" much narrower than your "bottom"?

hope you don't mind my questions; thanks for posting this project!
