4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / 3D Crystal lacquer vs. resin on: February 23, 2008 12:15:29 PM
Hello all,

I am new to the jewelry making field...so new that I haven't done it yet.  I have purchased some pendant trays/bevels and epoxy resin stuff, but I keep seeing 3D crystal lacquer on jewelry making websites.  This seems an easier, cheaper, and safer option, but I'm wondering if it's a suitable substitute.  If so, where can it be bought?

I teach high school language arts, and it might be a little advanced, but as any good educator knows, it's all about adaptibility.  My 9th graders are currently working on a 'travel brochure' as a way to get them to practice writing, research, etc.  You could have the kids make something like this, using pictures or symbols connected to that city.  I don't know, just a thought.

Thanks.  The rock garden suggestion gave me an idea:  Bonsai.
7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Fairy Gardens on: February 20, 2006 09:13:38 AM
For awhile I've been wanting to make a fairy garden in a small container.  What's cool is that you can make a lot of the little accessory bits yourself.  Was wondering if anyone's done this, and what sorts of plants to use?
8  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Re: my ruby red dorthy shoes on: February 18, 2006 07:30:42 AM
For the past 7 years or so, I've been seeing Ruby slippers at Target for little girls, and thinking, "Why do little girls get to have all the cool shoes?"

Aha!  Not so anymore.  Now, can you make a pair of jellies?
