1  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Bunny Amigurumi (lots of pictures) on: April 16, 2010 02:45:12 PM
Here is my first finished amigurumi ever, I have attempted a couple but never finished them. I started her about two weeks ago but have been working on other things so for me time wise it went really fast.
I made it using this pattern http://www.rheatheylia.com/index.php?page=patterns&id=3. It was really easy to follow.

His little bunny tail, I wanted to give him a fluffy tail but was scared that my daughter would eat it

Stolen before he was even finished

How hard it was to get a picture

Well that's it, hope you like it.
2  COOKING / Dessert / Husbands Birthday Cake... hehe on: April 08, 2010 10:21:02 AM
So this was my first attempt at fondant and I am quite proud of it, it was a lot more work than I was expecting though. It took me most of yesterday to make but it was totally worth it, my mother in law even came and saw it and told me that she should be offended but I did a good enough job she couldn't be, which is a lot coming from her. All the grown up boys that came over last night got a good kick out of it too and seemed to think they'll all need a cake on their birthdays. Well here she is...

Its marshmallow fondant and I just used a boxed cake mix.

3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Wavy Toddler Blanket on: March 30, 2010 01:03:36 PM
I've been working on this for the past month for my nephews first birthday this Friday. I used the big balls of Bernat, I find its softer than redheart especially for a baby blanket and a 5.5 size hook.
I got the pattern on this site http://www.crochetme.com/media/p/89937.aspx I made it a couple patterns bigger than it said because I want to to be able to grow up with him a little bit.

Over all I'm really happy how it came out, I think that this is the biggest project I've ever taken on and am ready to move on from it.

4  COOKING / Dessert / Nemo birthday cake on: March 19, 2010 03:50:22 PM
I made a Nemo cake for my daughters second birthday. She was obsessed with Nemo at the time and her entire birthday was orange and white.
This is my first attempt at a character cake, she asked for chocolate cake and then it was just regular icing (the recipe on the back of the icing sugar bag) and I used shoestring black liquorish for the black.

Action shot!
