2  Copper Coin Ring in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by johloh on: August 14, 2008 07:30:50 PM
well, I posted a quarter ring a couple weeks ago...here is my most recent attempt. Its made from a canadian large cent from 1919 (only very slightly larger than a US quarter). Its 95% copper, so it might turn a finger green...I've read that you can coat the inside with clear nail polish to prevent it...we'll see. took about 3-4 hours or so to complete...

3  double sided coin ring! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by johloh on: August 01, 2008 05:57:30 PM
well, heres my first attempt at a coin ring...its a little different than the normal spoon method of flattening out the reeds...it is a little wavy due to my inability to hammer evenly, but still has an interesting look to it...

next one will be better!

let me know what you think!

edit: I almost forgot...I was inspired to figure out how to make these by the work of http://www.spiritualflyer.com/services.html. He makes AMAZING rings...and theyre actually pretty cheap. ($35-$45)

6  Duck Hunt (nintendo) Cross Stitch! + pattern in Needlework: Completed Projects by johloh on: December 09, 2007 10:19:50 AM
I just completed a duck hunt cross stitch...It was completed on gray cloth to show a difference between the white stitching and the background (even though it doesnt show up very well in the pictures)

And I also provided charts and directions (for this as well as other duck hunt sprites) in this posting on my blog (its a video game cross stitch blog)...

7  Re: Need Help Making a Stencil in Stenciling: Discussion and Questions by johloh on: May 29, 2007 03:14:13 PM

its far from good looking but its the best that i could do...thats a hard image to make a stencil out of because it doesnt have good definition...the cats colors arent very contrasting...

hope you like it!

8  Nintendo Punchout! x stitch (1st stitching attempt) in Needlework: Completed Projects by johloh on: May 29, 2007 02:24:45 PM

(thats a dime for scale)

i think i probably should have bit off a smaller project for my first one...oh man that sea of orange was so fun...

i created the pattern from game screenshots...I made them with the intention of making one for each character, but that took a long time to do the first, so we'll see.

if anyone wants one of the patterns (i have every character) feel free to pm me...

UPDATE: All patterns posted on my new blog...

youll have to make two stencils for this one...the letters of 'car ramrod' cant be attached to the black without it looking like cursive or something...
