1  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Discussion and Questions / building a chicken coop and need help with details. on: July 06, 2010 02:50:40 PM

My husband and I are building a chicken coop.  I want the outside to look like a cute little house with shutters and flower boxes.  We are doing great on everything (I hope) except for the shutters (which is my project).
What I need is for any help with the making and attaching actual working shutters to two 12"x12" windows on the coop.  I have no woodworking skills and this is why I need help.  I really don't want my husband to help me, since he has done everything else on this coop.  I have an idea, but want to make sure I'm on the right track.
Besides shutters and window boxes, What would you add/do if you were building a chicken coop?

Here are (L to R) Clementine, Amelia, and Scarlett:

Here is the frame of the coop as of right now to help with any ideas out there!

and yes that is vinyl flooring!  Only the best for my ladies.

3  Texas / Texas: Central / Vacactioning in Austin and San Antonio and wondering... on: May 10, 2009 02:55:35 PM
Where are the best fabric/craft/thrift stores?  I'm mainly in search of vintage fabrics.  I hate to drive for hours visiting stores, so if anyone could help me narrow it down.  Thank you.
4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Amy Butler's Sophia Carry-All on: March 06, 2008 07:54:57 AM
It took me two weeks to make this purse, but it was worth it.  I had never used a pattern, so I was trying hard not to mess up.

5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Dumbledore's Army t-shirt tote bag on: March 06, 2008 07:49:25 AM
Here is a tote bag I made out of a Harry Potter shirt.  The inside is lined with a purple and black geometric design with halloween black cats.  It's very witchy.

6  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / decoupage table and shelf on: March 05, 2008 01:38:05 PM
Here are the table and shelf I decoupaged.  I originally was going to paint and stencil, but this was much easier.

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / First knitting project on: July 26, 2005 07:27:44 PM
I'm not only new to this site, I am also a new knitter.  My first project was a dishcloth.  Pretty simple.  What I would like to know is your first knitting project.  Pictures would be great, that way I won't feel so bad about my horrible dishcloth (i love how my knitting a square can actually be called something).
