1  building a chicken coop and need help with details. in Pet-Related Crafts: Discussion and Questions by madeline on: July 06, 2010 02:50:40 PM

My husband and I are building a chicken coop.  I want the outside to look like a cute little house with shutters and flower boxes.  We are doing great on everything (I hope) except for the shutters (which is my project).
What I need is for any help with the making and attaching actual working shutters to two 12"x12" windows on the coop.  I have no woodworking skills and this is why I need help.  I really don't want my husband to help me, since he has done everything else on this coop.  I have an idea, but want to make sure I'm on the right track.
Besides shutters and window boxes, What would you add/do if you were building a chicken coop?

Here are (L to R) Clementine, Amelia, and Scarlett:

Here is the frame of the coop as of right now to help with any ideas out there!

and yes that is vinyl flooring!  Only the best for my ladies.

3  Amy Butler's Sophia Carry-All in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by madeline on: March 06, 2008 07:54:57 AM
It took me two weeks to make this purse, but it was worth it.  I had never used a pattern, so I was trying hard not to mess up.

4  Dumbledore's Army t-shirt tote bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by madeline on: March 06, 2008 07:49:25 AM
Here is a tote bag I made out of a Harry Potter shirt.  The inside is lined with a purple and black geometric design with halloween black cats.  It's very witchy.

5  decoupage table and shelf in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by madeline on: March 05, 2008 01:38:05 PM
Here are the table and shelf I decoupaged.  I originally was going to paint and stencil, but this was much easier.
