i have coloured a transfer, after printing, but before ironing on too, and basically,the inks are underneath the protective layer when you have flipped it over.........so they are safe!

The wax crayons also work, from just normal paper too, remembering to design in mirror writing if there is any..........  The clothing must always be washed on a cool wash, hot temperatures will melt whatever wax is ingrained in the fabric, and smear over anything else in the machine...........tumble driers are a definate NO!!!! Shocked
