Love these colours Smiley  Great job. The chunky beads really do it for me  Grin

I get totally carried away at the beading stage I'm also a beady knitter - a few years now.  I'm loving copper wire with pearls at the moment especially.  (Must get more photo's uploaded....never enough time, hehe)

I have a pic I uploaded a few years back in my gallery of my first attempt at a cuff. Now I just have to remember how do put the link in.

27  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: more smocking samplers on: June 25, 2009 05:15:57 AM
Yes it stretches.  Different stitching will allow for more or less stretch.  Smocking was actually used as a form of elastication centuries ago, for shoes, shirt cuffs, waistbands etc.  It was later used more for the decorative effect rather than the practical.
28  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Watercolor Stencil Portrait + TUTORIAL on: June 22, 2009 02:41:35 AM

If they haven't already applied the watercolor, it would take only a tiny amount to define the eyes though..... the time is the problem... If it's only a handful of students, maybe they could work on the missed spots (while the others splashed watercolor around) and then use a hairdryer for a quick dry, so they, too, could apply the watercolor in the same class session. Good luck! I salute you!

I think using a heat dryer is what caused the problems with my masking sticking to the paper and tearing it?
29  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Watercolor Stencil Portrait + TUTORIAL on: June 22, 2009 02:38:18 AM
We tried this a few times, either the masking fluid gripped the paper and tore chunks of it away, or I chose images that were too detailed Sad  I am going to persevere with it tho!

We fashioned our own light box which was a great help.
