Um...I believe the clear is textured and that's what I used but I left it in the oven for longer than normal and all the threads you get in the clear kind practically dissappeared.

This gorgeous spooky brooch features a midnight blue disk of wool blend felt embroidered with a lovely spider's web in metallic silver folss. Dangling from the center on a 3.5" silver plated chain is a beautiful brown patterned spider hand painted on shrink plastic.

The felt circle is approximately 2" in diameter and the spider measures just under that. A bar pin has been secured with Fabric-Tac and sewn between 2 layers of felt to ensure this beauty lasts.

I love this mixing of all different buttons on one piece of jewelry in one hue. I wish I had more decorative black buttons in my arsenal but I'm running low.

I used all black and gray buttons and then accented it with transparent peach colored glass beads.

I have so many great red vintage buttons I need to think of some good color combinations to make use of them. The standard red and black is going to bore me real quick.

Any ideas on new red+ combos? This is my take on red and blue. It's a super long necklace that can be worn in several variations and as a bracelet.

I've been making button bracelets for a couple of years now but I had been doing it the hard way and making my own clasps out of wire. Thanks to Creative Kismet's great tutorial for a more simple closure solution (smacking myself in the forehead about this one) they are prettier than ever with metallic embroidery floss.

I know exactly what you are talking about and unfortunately I am having the same problem. There is a bead store near me in Tempe AZ that sells them but they are .25 a pop. That is too rich for my blood when I can make something equivalent on my own for much cheaper. The pre-made ones are much nicer though.
