1  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Keyboard Keys on: January 27, 2015 06:12:55 PM
I had a ton of these and i found a great use. I make lamps, and sometimes have to use whatever is around for a base. I took a small square of plywood, drilled 4 small holes barely into the wood, and pushed the underside of the keys into the holes. This made feet on the base so the cord had space to exit the lamp/base.

I'm thinking of trying to drill through them and making lamps, just run the pipe through them. I also thought of making moblies or windchimes. Apparently you and I are the only people on earth trying to teuse them. I couldn't find any posts on the web.

I want to make an insulated lunch tote out of my dog/cat food bags. I would imagine, if I double layered the bags, I could put old fleece in the middle of the layers to insulate. Probably be much sturdier than the lunch bags that are overpriced. Besides, my boyfriend is really hard on those bags.

And not a lamp. I saw stuff somewhere, but I can't find any of it now. HELP!!!

I wonder how these would look made with magazine pages? I think I'll try later. I loved these from the first time I saw them.

Awesome! I'm about to receive tons of these from a wonderful friend.

I wonder if you could use these to tile a backsplash, or something?

You know the new ones that are like tyvek or something? Will they come off?

I guess quilts would be the most obvious.
I've used old tropical shirts to recover chair seats.

I guess they're cut diagonally, huh?

All the stuff I can think of involves cutting and welding. Undecided
