1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / my first knit project post on: October 18, 2006 12:44:35 PM
I have been knitting for about two years now and I finally got around to posting some f.o.'s here. These two scarves are nothing super special. They are done in plain garter stitch because I thought the yarn was fancy enough on its own. Smiley

this has beautiful pinks purples and some blue mixed in. My crappy camera didn't do the colors justice. I believe the yarn is N.Y. yarns but I lost the label.

this was for my daughter made from red heart light and lofty in a bubble gum pink (excuse the shoes in the background I didn't feel like photoshopping) lol

Thanks for letting me share!

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / cable needle? on: October 11, 2006 08:04:15 AM
I am a fairly advance beginner at knitting, I can make 2 needle mittens, scarves and two needle hats. However, I have never done the cable stitch. Do you have to use a special needle for that? I thought  I heard somewhere that you could use a third knitting needle, but I am probably wrong.  And also, is there a good beginner pattern I could complete fairly easily?
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / ideas? on: October 10, 2006 12:53:17 PM
I need to have a gift for a 15th birthday celebration on Saturday (i just found out I was going today geesh!) it is a big hispanic celebration....forget what it is called.... anyway, I want to make a gift and wondered if anyone had any ideas for a special gift that could be completed in a few days. I was thinking a pretty prayer shawl or something....does anyone know what kind of gifts you give? Basically, I want something a 15 year old will open and not go ewww!
