1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / My clown peeg! on: December 31, 2006 02:26:30 PM

I'm very interested in the Chinese Zodiac and since the upcoming year is The Year of The Pig, I wanted to incorporate a pig into my project. I found an easy origami pattern for a rabbit, made it in pink paper and changed the folds of the ears so it looked more pig-like. I just drew the pig tail in after. I used origami paper for everything - and a I used the back of an old Christmas card for the base and just glued the yellow/green paper on top.

This is my first try at an ATC and found that 2.5 X 3.5 inches is a good size to try little projects on. It was a fun project!
2  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / I'm not sure about this completed project - The Exchange Bag on: July 25, 2006 09:55:25 PM
I'm working on the handmade gift part of the coloriffic swap and the theme is rainbow colours. I found some cute rainbow yarn and thought I'd make a bag. However, after I finished the bag part, I decided not to give it a long strap because, I don't think anyone would really use this as bag or purse. It's just too busy.

It seemed like a good idea at the time and it took me 1 1/2 days to make it, so I really didn't want to just frog it. My plan B is to make it into a basket. I think this makes a better basket than a purse and I thought I'd starch it so it holds its shape, so it kind of looks like this:

I can see this working better as a basket in a craft room or even in a colourful bathroom.

What do you think?
3  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Another skull potholder picture on: July 12, 2006 11:02:45 PM
I made this one for a swap partner. Now that I've seen a few others, I think I'll stick with the darker colours in the future. I think the skull looks a bit cleaner. I really liked making this, and I'll be on the look out for other patterns to crochet just like this.
