11  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Suggest New Boards and New Features / Idea for craft contest voting on: June 11, 2006 01:06:50 PM
I wasn't sure where to post this so feel free to delete it but....

I was thinking, is there a way to make the poll for the craft contest have links? Like where it has a whole list of the titles of entries to vote, if the title was a link to the page it would make it easier to vote. As it stands i've got two pages open shifting between the poll and then looking up each project in the contest section.

.... I feel like I'm not explaining myself very well...
12  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / SeaofStars Corduroy-to-die-for LapTop Bag (PIC OVERLOAD) on: January 25, 2006 03:37:40 PM
So for Xmas I got a ginormous laptop. I love it! Love it more than I should love any object, also I am clumsy. And I HATE black laptop bags available commercially. What's a girl to do?? Craftster to the rescue. I commissioned SeaOfStars to make me a laptop bag. After 35 million PMs with all of my "i want this but not that" and near disasterous shipping (no thanks to USPS) ITS HERE!! AND ITS FREAKIN ADORABLE!! I have to share it so you can all drool as well. SeaofStars is incredibly talented, the whole thing is just pefect and soooo professional looking. It's chocolate brown corduroy the photos can't capture the color. And without further ado, more pics than you care to see:
Looks pretty good to Baby:

Applique closeup (how cute is this?)

Inside pocket perfect for CDs/DVDs and my wireless mouse (isnt the lining cute too?)

Sweet little side pockets for my cell phone or perhaps pens? Either way they add a splash of color

In action

So there you have it. I am MORE than thrilled. SeaofStars is a sewing wizard

Are inexpensive/ dont require many supplies I'll have to go out and buy
Can be done with a group
Can be done in an 1-1/12 hours
can be done by people who dont always have the longest attention span/ attention to detail
Are ok for adults
Are fun/ interesting

Any thoughts?Huh??
14  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Pagan/ Naturesque Gift for baby from "God" mother?? Help!! on: January 13, 2006 06:31:01 AM
I KNOW you crafty folks can help me. I have been asked to be the guardian for a friend's baby. (Think godmother) except they're pagan. I wanted to get the baby something to give to her at the ceremony. Her name is Jade and i tried searching the meaning online but all it means is green gemstone. The only think i could come up with is a framed name plaque with her name is pretty script and possibly using green gemstones as decorations, perhaps making flowers out of them... who knows.

Any ideas?
15  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Gift for Boss-- Ribbon PhotoBoard on: December 04, 2005 09:49:48 AM
So we've all seen these, I'm not that creative. But I am cheap and instead of paying $20 bucks I made my own version for about $5. These will be gifts for the last Holiday I spend with my lovely boss and favorite coworker.

This one looks crooked but it's not

You can hang the board on the wall or just prop it on your desk. You can slip photos and papers behind the ribbon.

Materials: 2 sheets of foam board *each board is cut in half and glued together for extra thickness*
             Cement Glue
2 yards of fabric (one for each there will be scrap)
Ribbon (wide to hold pics, thin to hang it from)
Buttons and thread (yes the buttons are sewn on-- it holds the ribbon in place

17  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Texas Pete? on: September 27, 2005 12:46:57 PM
Does anyone have a picture of the cowboy from the texas pete logo? I'm having trouble finding it outside a tiny image on the bottle. On the texas pete website the image is flash so I cant save it to my computer. I'm looking to make a private-use stencil. Can anyone help?
18  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Jewelry Box on: August 15, 2005 09:01:07 AM
Since I've been extra bored lately, I've been running around the house photographing crafty things I've made. This is a jewlery box I made a few years ago. It's just one of those el cheapo $.99 plain wood boxes from Micheals. I used acrylic paint and silk flowers and decopaged paper that I ripped off to give it that effect. The inside lid is Mod Podged fabric scraps and the bottom is felt.
19  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / FOUND TABLE on: August 06, 2005 03:51:16 PM
At the end of the semester my school hauls in huge dumpsters and sets them up outside the dorms for all of the kids who are too lazy/ don't have enough room to take furniture, room essentials etc. I found this side table sitting next to it last year and have just gotten around to doing something with it. I love it and it's perfect for a bedside table. In real life the flaws aren't as noticeable. What do you think?

20  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / OH what to do?? Tote bag HELP on: July 30, 2005 07:59:53 PM
MY boyfriend's dad gave me a few tote bags from his work. They are canvas, two are solid red with a black band at the top and two are solid black. MY mind is a frenzy with potential craftiness. Any thoughts?

I am making one of the red ones into a lady bug tote but what to do with the other 3???
I like fairies and wanted to maybe somehow attach fabric faires and flowers (I can't sew-- would glue work?)
I also love to paint with acrylic paint and will probably use that.... but for what??

I need your help: What would you do with these tote bags?
