471  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: Yellow skin on: August 11, 2005 11:31:21 AM
Jaundice causes yellow skin, but I'm not sure if it's spot-specific or your entire body. If it looks like something is seriously wrong (versus just dye-stained from a t-shirt or something) see a doctor!! We here on craftster are creative and smart, but most of us aren't doctors, get it checked to be sure.
472  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / Re: Is there any hope for these shoes? on: August 08, 2005 03:18:34 PM
I second that. Polyurethane is your friend. I polyurethane all my acrylic, maybe i should have said that in my post  Embarrassed

The shoes are really awesome though!
473  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: I Need help finishing off a project. Not for the easily offended. on: August 08, 2005 10:55:16 AM
I was typing Peter and trying to post it at the exact same time as the last poster. It's a sign:
 Pete, Petey, Peter

By the way, that is simply fabulous!! I love it!

Have you tried acrylic paint? It's cheap, plastic based paint--- it comes in a bagillion colors and you shouldn't have any problem with running or fading. Although if you cake it on too thick it will crack, other than that it's great, I use it to paint everything from canvas to wood (doesn't work too well on plastic though)
475  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: FOUND TABLE on: August 06, 2005 04:55:03 PM
I love the coke coasters!! I wish I had a tray though! We put them to "good and creative" uses. We have a set of four of them, my boyfriend found them at his grandmothers house. I glued it to the table cause the circle under it ended up looking really bad Smiley

At the end of the semester my school hauls in huge dumpsters and sets them up outside the dorms for all of the kids who are too lazy/ don't have enough room to take furniture, room essentials etc. I found this side table sitting next to it last year and have just gotten around to doing something with it. I love it and it's perfect for a bedside table. In real life the flaws aren't as noticeable. What do you think?

477  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: toilet paper cardboard roll thing.. on: August 02, 2005 07:31:57 PM
STUFF the TP roll with the scented dryer sheets. Then use rubberbands to secure another dryer sheet over then end you won't put your mouth on. Trust me on this one.....

Also, febreeze is your friend.
478  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / OH what to do?? Tote bag HELP on: July 30, 2005 07:59:53 PM
MY boyfriend's dad gave me a few tote bags from his work. They are canvas, two are solid red with a black band at the top and two are solid black. MY mind is a frenzy with potential craftiness. Any thoughts?

I am making one of the red ones into a lady bug tote but what to do with the other 3???
I like fairies and wanted to maybe somehow attach fabric faires and flowers (I can't sew-- would glue work?)
I also love to paint with acrylic paint and will probably use that.... but for what??

I need your help: What would you do with these tote bags?

This is the one I made for myself. It's pretty similar to the other one. Thanks for the feedback, it's much appreciated!

Okay so I discovered this site about a week ago and have been obsessively lurking since. I am just so inspired but all of you crafty kids, some of you just blow me away. (On a completely unrelated note: I notice a lot of us have kitties, must go hand in hand with craftiness) Anywho being unemployed I decided to rummage around my crafting bins. I threw together some supplies I had and viola! My first post and the first crafty thing I've done in a while. I've only managed to photograph the one I just gave away... I have more pics of this one and I'll post some pics of the other ones as I finish

Supplies I used:
Metal Candy Tins
Origami paper
MOD PODGE and Mod Podge sparkle!!!
Fabric scraps
Fabric glue
Beads
Ribbon
527 cement
Stickers
Fimo clay
Tea Light and incense
