1  Craft Studio: Work in progress in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by MadelBlue on: July 25, 2011 07:50:56 PM
Sneak Peek:

My beautiful wife and I have been home improving fools since buying our first home in November. So far we've done all the work ourselves! We're pretty awesome girls lol We are basically painting and reflooring every single room.

Amazing woman that she is, she helped me do this over two days Memorial weekend. It combines my love of all things craft and it will be my library.

I feel so spoiled to FINALLY have a craft space. (I do scrapbooking, tile mosaics and photography mostly, recently getting into card making and some jewelry) See ya later kitchen table/ bed crafting! I am giddy with excitement, I'm sure everyone here can relate. It's not finished at all,... but I couldn't wait to post pics. I'll update with my progress!

Still to do: Paint trim, Window coverings, Install new light fixture, new door levers, rug, photos and various crap for walls, and book shelves, book shelves, book shelves! And um, you know, haul in all my craft stuff...

BEFORE: aka Beware the basement

Lets not even discuss that brown indoor/outdoor carpet with previous owner pet pee stains EWWWWW!!

Stage One:

Pyro the cat admires my floor

View from the closet (haha) The walls are less bright blue and a touch greener. More soothing... It's hard to capture true color

My desk- just waiting for my new iMac

CURRENTLY.... Still not finished but making progress!!

This is the far corner, some of my favorite photos on the ledge, the hanging jar holders on the wall hold beads, jewelry findings, scrapbooking brads etc. Most of the storage stuff came from Ikea

Another view of that wall. The brown thing on the left corner is my forever unfinished mosaic table.

Corner by the closet

Computer, ikea desk, free newspaper kitty Smiley

Inspiration and mementos

Bookshelf, still have boxes and boxes of books to unpack. The wife and I assembled this monster without a single curse word Smiley

Not really a photo of anything but I love these stars, bought them at an adorable Amish bake shop

Still to do:
Window covers, clean and straighten, get a rug, hang a few shelves. These pics aren't the greatest and I still have a lot to do (in between the rest of the home projects, work and grad school starting next month lol) I didn't want to leave this thread hangin. Hopefully it inspires some one as some of the amazing craft rooms posted here have inspired me.

3  Baby Scrapbook in Scrapbooking: Completed Projects by MadelBlue on: June 05, 2009 09:03:00 PM
I made this for our friend who is having twins any time now. I've been working on it all night so my photography is somewhat lacking. The color looks dull but you get the idea.

All she has to do is insert her photos on the pages-- I figured it would be easy enough for a mom whose about to be busy with two. I'll finish it up tomorrow.

Most of my work is 35mm and not on the computer. I managed to find a few...

5  Paper Tree Art thingy: Ton O' Images in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by MadelBlue on: December 27, 2006 04:57:35 PM
So I have no idea where to put this, interior decorating, paper crafts, misc. completed projects....? I figured this was as good as any.

This is a gift for my girlfriend. I am very nervous about giving it to her, we haven't been dating long and she's my first girlfriend. She is truly amazing and I wanted to make her something as incredible as she makes me feel... hence my nervousness about her liking it.

It really looks better in real life because you can appreciate the 3D levels and variety in the paper. This is my first time trying this technique on this big a scale. I need to get updated pics but I ended up filling out a few bare spots and finishing the edges of the canvas with blue satin ribbon.

Full frontal glory: (I almost hate to post this shot because it doesn't do it justice at all)

A heart in the tree that I made from the paper around the roses she gave me on our second date:

6  Help!!! Xmas present for GF--(Finshed!! thanks for the ideas!!) in Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions by MadelBlue on: December 13, 2006 09:16:31 PM
So this is a Christmas present for my girlfriend. I know it needs something uptop,... but what?  Huh Huh Huh
I was thinking swirly clouds but would that leave too much white?
If I paint the background do i have to get into all the white spots?
Should I college images onto the top ie, a moon or fairy or something?
more water at the bottom??
As you can see I am very confused. Help!!
Front shot (I promise, not best representation of what it looks like in real life)

Details so you get an idea of the color:

EDIT: I've (pretty much) finished it and it's posted here:

Thanks for the suggestions!!

I wasn't sure where to post this. I came across this link online and thought some of you might be interested. It has tons of really quirky and funky images that would be great for decoupaging etc.

9  SeaofStars Corduroy-to-die-for LapTop Bag (PIC OVERLOAD) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by MadelBlue on: January 25, 2006 03:37:40 PM
So for Xmas I got a ginormous laptop. I love it! Love it more than I should love any object, also I am clumsy. And I HATE black laptop bags available commercially. What's a girl to do?? Craftster to the rescue. I commissioned SeaOfStars to make me a laptop bag. After 35 million PMs with all of my "i want this but not that" and near disasterous shipping (no thanks to USPS) ITS HERE!! AND ITS FREAKIN ADORABLE!! I have to share it so you can all drool as well. SeaofStars is incredibly talented, the whole thing is just pefect and soooo professional looking. It's chocolate brown corduroy the photos can't capture the color. And without further ado, more pics than you care to see:
Looks pretty good to Baby:

Applique closeup (how cute is this?)

Inside pocket perfect for CDs/DVDs and my wireless mouse (isnt the lining cute too?)

Sweet little side pockets for my cell phone or perhaps pens? Either way they add a splash of color

In action

So there you have it. I am MORE than thrilled. SeaofStars is a sewing wizard

10  Re: The Things Toilet Paper Comes on in What the heck can I do with THIS? by MadelBlue on: December 30, 2005 09:25:00 PM
i just went through this. i made a bunch of flowers out of them and strung them on twine and hung them in our doorway. (see in the background of the picture?) You just cut the roll into one inch "strips" and tape them together. I can post a better picture tomorrow if it helps Even though they look stupid in the picture*shrug* i think they're cute
