So I have been doing a few projects that require gluing fabric onto hard surfaces. I was just wondering what I can do to keep the gluing from bleeding through which makes the fabric area darker and hard. Is there any technique I can do (other than spreading the glue thin) or any special glue I could use. I usually am using cotton or polyester fabrics if that makes any difference.

So I am going to Cedar Point on Thursday and I didn't want to bring a purse and everything I needed could not fit into my pockets so using the ideas I have seen here on Crafster I created a hipslinger type thing (mucho credit to whoever coined the term!) to take with me. This is the first time I ever sewed anything like this before so I used a bandana instead of starting from scratch.

I am using a shoelace as "the belt" part but I am not completely satisfied with the idea so I haven't sewed it on.  I tried the whole sewing the loops on the back that didn't work too well.

Any comments, suggestions or critism welcome!

Ever notice the new style of shirts are very long? I hate it!  I am already short so they just make me look shorter! Problem is I wear shirts too! I wanted a way to make these shirts shorter since i can't find regular length shirts anymore. How would I go about doing this? I can't not sew for beans and I don't have a sewing machine..ah it sounds pretty hopeless.  The one shirt I have in mind doesn't have any seams on the sleeves and the bottom of the shirt so I am  wondering if I can just cut it with scissors? Would it start to fray? Any help would be much appreciated. Sorry this was so long!

A few weeks ago I found these folders on clearance that I fell in love with. The only problem is that they had only one blue one and the rest were pink.  I figure that I would go head and buy a few pink because the outside is made of a nylon/cloth sort of material so I figured it would be easier to decorate to make it different. The only idea I have come up with is decorating it with a bleach pen. Any other ideas as to how to decorate and what should I decorate on it. (i really don't want to write the subject I am using it for because these are very reusable)

I ma trying to learn how to use a sewing machine. I found the Euro Pro Dressmaker II for a really good price and was wondering if any of you have tried it and if it is good for beginners. Or maybe you knopw of a better one. Any advice would be helpful.
