1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Luna Lovegood Scarf-My Take-PATTERN ADDED! on: September 14, 2008 06:57:33 PM
This is an amazingly awesome pattern...and it's the first pattern i've ever been comfortable trying, so this is my first official project! I'm quite excited!

However, picots scare me. I'm trying to do them...but I just wanted to tell you how awesome the pattern is! Thank you so much!

3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / T on: July 04, 2008 09:40:23 AM
I love to lurk these galleries, it's so inspirational how people share their secrets with the world.

grams - this one touches me more than you can imagine. I lost my grams this past may to lung cancer (non-hodgkins lymphoma),  and we had no idea she was sick until february. she never showed any symptoms until she got what we thought was a cold with a fever. It also didn't help that she was scheduled for a non-invasive surgery to remove liquid from around her lungs and the doctor decided to cut her wide open. that's pretty much what sent her downhill.

she was doing so much better, and this careless man made her last days the most unbearable of her life.

Everyday is this postcard for me. I think about her all the time, all the things i want to say...i never got to say goodbye.

be strong, craftster. I can't say it'll get easier, but you'll get stronger over time.

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Jayne Hat and Harry Potter DArk Mark Illusion Scarf! on: January 03, 2008 10:31:56 AM
@ Plumbum
As far as the difficulty of the knitting, it's really not that bad. You just need to know how to knit, purl, read a pattern, and be really patient (because it takes forever!).

My mom's been trying to teach me to knit for...forever!!

i just can't seem to get the wholetwoneedlesoney arn thing...

i will try tho....

I am seriously going to make myself learn how to knit...just to make that scarf!!!

I know how it is, at my work, i'm known as the harry potter chick cuz i wear my gryffindor/slytherin scarves all the time, and i'm using my seeker track jacket as a coat...

they just don't get it! lol!
7  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: The golden snitch! on: November 11, 2007 02:17:40 PM

8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: My Guardian Penguin! on: November 09, 2007 11:25:52 AM
lmao! A furby! That's hilarious!!!!

For the belly, as well as for the overall stitching, i just used standard sewing thread, doubled up...it's surprisingly sturdy!

And Egzacto...sounds pretty good, it might be it!
9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / My Guardian Penguin! on: November 08, 2007 11:34:09 PM
So after the "Happy Feet" craze last christmas...or more like during it, i decided to make a small army of penguins. However, most of them found new homes, but one stayed with me!!!

behold the guardian of my "tiffany's" xacto knife collection!!!

(he/she's yet to be named...imagine being a year old with no name!)

Fully hand stitched, with eyes stolen from my mom's button collection...gives it a "i've drank way too much caffeine and i can't sleep" look...which i like. Adds character.

or something. Smiley

enjoy!
10  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Neverending Crochet Neckwarmer...in HOT PINK!! on: November 08, 2007 11:26:29 PM
So, first post in the crochet forum...very exciting!

I just recently restarted crafting in general, and crocheting was the first thing to come back to me (since i'm no good at friggin knitting).

So here's my first creation in a long time!

(excuse the myspace look)

It's a moeibus (sp?) scarf, inspired by watching some science show on tv and having grade school science class flashbacks...who said that stuff doesn't stick on you?

Made with Red Heart sport in color Hot Pink...and disgustingly easy to make! (if you want a tute, feel free to ask, tho i'm sure that y'all can figure it out way easy)

Hope you like!
