31  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: Have you been in China as vegan? on: July 08, 2007 08:24:17 PM
Also, there are small boxes of condoms in every hotel room, which cost about one US dollar, if I remember correctly. I gave some of these to my friends, too, although I kept the one with the picture of--I swear--a cartoon condom on it for myself.

It's not really related to the original post, but I'd love to see a picture!

I made this spinach recipe and it was delicious.  Highly recommended.

I genuinely like those bags.  I'd carry 'em!
35  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Classicos del Terror comic book purse!! on: June 22, 2007 03:18:14 PM
I love this!  I have a bunch of old comics around and I might have to try to make something similar.
36  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: Full Tutorial To Dying Your Hair With Henna on: June 10, 2007 06:35:20 PM
I dyed my hair with henna this winter.  I used the stuff for sale at hennaforhair.com, followed their instructions (mixing it with lemon juice), and I loved the way it turned out.

this is what it looked like before, directly after, and a month later:

it's been about 4 months now, and it still looks pretty red under the sun.  I'd definitely do it again.
37  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Antique Key Earrings on: June 10, 2007 06:09:27 PM
Ooh, I love these!  I have a couple similar keys somewhere, but never thought to make jewelry out of them.  I may have to try this out.  Cheesy
38  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: Why are you Vegetarian/Vegan? on: June 03, 2007 10:04:09 AM
I have loved animals ALL my life. And all my life I ddin't like meat, how it felt to chew it, or when it was chewed(sorry, don't mean to be gross here, lol), i think you get the point.

Me too!  Just the idea of it has always bothered me.

I was a strict-ish vegetarian for about 4 years, then went back to eating poultry for awhile in the midst of a lot of other life changes.  But after recently finding a whole chicken head on my plate in a restaurant, I kind of had a personal realization that no matter what it looks like, it really is an animal and I am pretty sure I can never eat meat again.  So basically, I don't eat meat because I can't deal with the idea of eating an animal.  And the health benefits are pretty amazing, too.  I cook more as a vegetarian and I feel so much better about what I'm putting in my body.
39  Florida / Florida: Central / Re: NEW USF Crft group on: June 03, 2007 09:54:37 AM
so glad to see this!  I'm starting at USF in the fall (moving all the way from Pennsylvania), and I'd love to have a craft group to hang out with.  I knit a lot, I'm learning a little bit of crochet, and I want to someday be able to sew clothing and such.  if this is still going on in August (when I move) I'd love to be involved!
40  Florida / Florida: Central / Re: Crochet and Knitting Group in Tampa? on: June 03, 2007 09:51:06 AM
well, I'm moving to Tampa in August or the end of July.  so I don't know of anything yet, but I'd definitely be interested in participating once I'm there!  I'm a knitter, I've dabbled in crochet, and I desperately want to learn how to sew.
