1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Is it ever OK to ask for a knit gift back? on: November 16, 2007 09:12:52 AM
Here's the deal, I knit a hat for a coworker last year and I kinda knew she didn't like it when I gave it to her.  Here response was polite but less than enthusiastic.  At the time, I offered to knit a new item for her if she didn't like it and she insisted that she did and wanted to keep it.  Now, an entire year later, she just made a crack about contributing it to our annual auction at work.  It's an event where people donate items to auction off and the proceeds go to charity.  I didn't know what to say to her when she said that so I didn't say anything.  So...can I ask to have it back or what?  I am kinda seething about it.  Or do I let it go?  Or should I encourage her to give it to the auction because at least then I can buy it back (it's actually a cute hat) or let someone else buy it?  Any ideas on how to deal with this?
2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Annie Inspired Clown-might be traumatic for those with clown issues on: October 30, 2007 08:51:02 PM
Well, here I am in all my Annie Clown glory  Tongue
3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Adult Costume: Annie Inspired Clown (some have called it creepy) on: October 30, 2007 08:12:39 PM
I am quite pleased with how this turned out.
It started out as a straight up Annie costume but took an entirely different direction.
I sewed the dress; I used the machine some and ended up doing the trim by hand.
The mask was a lucky (and cheap) find from the grocery store.
Hope you like it!  Grin

Hi. These are two stockings that I made for my friend and her boyfriend. I hope they like them as much as I do. Just felt, and a few sequins and beads. Smiley

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Vogue Knitting Cabled Hat on: December 06, 2006 09:44:03 PM
I just finished this hat for a friend's birthday present and I soooo want to keep it. Wink
It is from the 2005/2006 Winter Vogue Knitting. It's called TRAPPER HAT.
My gauge was off so my result looks different from the magazine photo but I still like it.
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Knitty's CORONET (kind of) on: October 29, 2005 11:28:13 PM
Hi All, this is a modified version of Knitty's Coronet hat. I did this one in Noro on size 10's for the cabled band and then size 8's just to do the top and to close it up. I love how it turned out. It was my first time using Noro and I loved being surprised by the colors as they changed.

Let me know what you think and thank you for looking!  Grin
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Sock Fever on: October 25, 2005 10:15:30 PM
Hi Everyone,
There have been quite a bit of sock talk on the board lately and coincidentally I just finished my first sock ever just a few minutes ago. So.......here it is!

Now, it just needs a mate!  Grin
