I do like making my own patterns. It's like doing a puzzle in reverse. You start with a drawing of what you want to do and from there you need to figure out where to put the pieces to make it look like the drawing.

how do you cut your vinyl? Smiley just scissors?

scissors but I get them sharpened often.

I buy mine wholesale by the bolt but places like Hancock Fabric carries it.

is vinyl hard to sew?

It has a level if difficulty to it, not something I would recommend for a beginner to start with. You should also make sure you have a machine that can handle it or you could burn out the motor after a few projects.

Clean office leads to productivity. =) Of course now it's messy again.













Glitter vinyl was purchased wholesale but you can get it at places like Hancock Fabric or Fabric.com

I use a teflon foot to make the vinyl glide under the foot better but you can use tissue paper.

I know. I got that set of cutting blades, too! I just sort of stumbled upon the idea and it worked so great! I had to use it. I'm glad I'm not the only one! =0)


My hand was so sore though after I was done. I need one of those laser cutters but I don't have 10,000 dollars laying around nor do I have the room for it. Maybe someday. =)

I spent a few days making sparkle vinyl rick rack, it's awesome stuff. I found 4 different styles of rotary cutters and went to town.

I LOVE this!!!  Where did you get your vinyl?  I don't think I've ever seen glitter.  :3

I no longer buy mine in retail stores I get it by the bolt, 15 yards at a time. You can get it at Hancock Fabric, or fabric.com

be sure that where ever you get it that they don't fold it, the creases won't come out. It's a bummer.
