1  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: how do you make your own labels etc? and packaging ideas? on: September 06, 2005 07:17:15 AM
My soon to be 16 yr old twins sell bath and body products and candles. What I think makes a beautiful label on colored containers is the clear labels for your office supply store. When Applied they kinda have a frosted look.Just design you label with logo on your computer and print out.I usually save a master copy, that way all I have to do is pull it up and add the product scent or whatever and print.

2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: My first Hobo bag on: August 24, 2005 03:54:30 PM
Wow! All the wonderful comments surprised me. The lining was just some cotton fabric I picked up from Walmart at one time.It had the same shade of green's and browns in it as the other fabric. The piping was also made from this cotton fabric.
It was made from the tutorial on here, except I cut the pattern in half to make the bottom corderoy, and the top the tapestry type fabric, then put the piping between the two.

3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / My daughter expecting first, need blanket pattern (croch or knit) on: August 22, 2005 06:56:49 AM
Just found out my daughter is expecting her first. Quite awhile back i made a blanket for someone that had a lacey edging with triangular shapes I believe. It was gorgeous. Now I cant find my pattern. Does anyone have a blanket pattern that you would be willing to share or know where I can find a freebie?I want something kinda lacey but not large opeings for little fingers to get stuck in with a fabulous edging.

I designed and sewed these curtains for my kitchen windows. The pic is a little dark. the main fabric is a cream color with a slight lighter color print. The trim is a cream background with dusty colored fruit.

brokenpencil,it is the tut on here. The only difference was that she didnt put in a zipper and added the decorating. It really looks store bought when you see it in person.

forgot to mention, she also used rings to attach handles to purse, instead of sewing them directly.
7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Cherries Jubilee Dumpling Doll on: August 07, 2005 07:46:40 AM
I crocheted this doll this weekend. She works up fairly fast and is soo cute. They are a re-make of the Strawberry Shortcake Gang. In fact since this one looks so much like Strawberry Shortcake, I almost made the cherries into strawberries.I am going to give this to my grand daughter, but now my 16 yr old daughter wants one of the other dolls for herself.

8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Jordy Bag - Square Bottomed Lined Bag Tutorial on: August 05, 2005 06:37:43 PM
Emrose, I find it easier not to cut the corner off. just cut out one big square, rectangle or whatever, leave the corners. Sew all three sides. Then grab lowe corner at an angle , and pinch so the side seam lines up with the bottom seam, then measure up each side of this point 1 and 1/2 inches , draw a line to connect and sew along this line, forming a triangular shape. Then trim corner off.

10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Still practicing on: August 04, 2005 10:08:59 AM
Still practicing on this tote, trying to get the lining just right. It is looking a little better. fidget's advice is helping. You cant tell from photo, but the lining is dark blue with tiny red apples on it and green leaves.

This is a closeup of the monogram. Next time I am going to try a thicker one so it shows up better.
