21  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Stabilizers on: October 11, 2006 08:37:34 AM
Hi all! When do you use stabilizers on your embroidery projects? So far I've been using lightweight fabrics, but is there a need for stabilizers with different weights/textures/etc?

I've never used stabilizers before, so does anyone have any good tips? Thanks!
22  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Protecting your finished work on: October 11, 2006 08:19:16 AM
Does anyone have any suggestions for putting some sort of fusible material over the back of your stitches for some extra protection? I thought it might make for a more finished look and keep any stray threads from coming loose in the wash. Has anyone tried this? Or does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks, stitchers!

Thanks, everyone! These are some really great suggestions, and I really appreciate it! Looks like I'm off to the thrift store after work to stock up Wink
24  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Suggestions for items to embroider on: October 09, 2006 05:12:21 PM
Hi all! I'm an SS fan, and was wondering what fun things people have embroidered on besides towels, t-shirts, etc. The holidays are just around the corner, so I thought I'd get a jump on it!

I have some jewelry I made and was thinking about brining it out to the baar just because I like going to it myself! Do you think certain items sell better than others? How early do you have to get there to set up?
28  UNITED STATES / Michigan / Craft fairs in Michigan on: September 21, 2005 08:15:03 AM
Does anyone know of a "Renegade Craft Fair" (Brooklyn/Chicago) type of event in Michigan? If not, would anyone be interested in starting something like that here? Either way I'd like to get involved and wondered if anyone else would, too. I'm in southeastern Mich. Thanks Wink

I haven't heard of any (I'm in Oakland County), but I would love to start one since I've been wanting to learn how to knit. Do you know where Basketful of Yarn (I think that's the name) in Clarkston is? I know they have a lot of people come in and work on projects, so perhaps they might have a few more leads.
30  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Old soda pop crates? on: August 22, 2005 02:59:39 PM
I found these two nifty Pepsi and Coke crates outside a store. I'd love to turn them into SOMETHING... I thought about some sort of table, but I'm not sure. Any ideas on what to do with old crates?
