21  Re: Invite your partner swap gallery!! in The Swap Gallery by aschnebly on: May 31, 2006 10:58:04 AM
I just got my AMAZING package from Mata... she went way way above and beyond.  Thank you so much, Mata!

I feel like I went to go pick her up for prom and she's wearing a gorgeous designer gown, and I have on one of those t-shirts with the tuxedo printed on it Sad  Everything in her package she sent is so amazing and unexpected, WOW. (Warning, lots and lots of scans, I couldn't find my camera this morning...)

Ok, well here is what I was expecting...

A cute cute clutch, it is very well made, there is a cute little zipper pocket inside!

I love love the fabric, the pattern Mata used was the Dorothy clutch by Amy Butler.

Some gorgeous italian yarn, first is a bulky variegated wool, and second is a cotton/linen/acrylic blend:

Ok, now for all the extras...

Two Italian magazines, one is on decor and the other is the most famous embroidery magazine, according to Mata.  I certainly see why, there are tons of embroidery patterns inside and they are amazing.

Extra fabric in the same pattern as the clutch, so I can make a matching tote to go with it, so thoughtful and some origami paper from the local chinatown in Milano.

A gorgeous postcard of Milano, this is only the view of the middle section, it is actually quite long and there are two other sections that fold out.

Some Italian candy, I popped one of the caramel ones in my mouth right away.  It was like Werther's Originals, but even better.  When I read her note, I found out that they were sugar free!  Even better!

Some flower seed packets, I have two empty planters at the moment, perfect for them to go in!
She wrote "A bouquet of flowers for the loveliest prom date from Vegas!" (awww)

Ok, now for the grand finale, this:

The design is about 4" x 10" and is amazing!  I had something like this on my Wist-list for a long time and she made my vision come to life exactly as I had imagined!  I am going to search for the perfect frame for it this weekend!

Thank you thank you so much, Mata!  I will definetly have to come up with a second package because I feel like such a %^$!@ right now.  I love everything.  Sooo... when my package gets there just consider it a pre-party, and the post-prom party will come later... Smiley

25  Re: Gallery for Felt A Long #6, felting with wire in Felting: Completed Projects by aschnebly on: May 13, 2006 05:03:49 PM
I made this felted bluebird for my swap partner for the forest friends swap, it's not accurate at all, except that it is blue, and a bird Smiley  I used Radal's songbird tutorial and just used wire for the legs.  He is a little fuzzy round the edges but I still like him!

Thanks for the inspiration radal16!  Also thanks to Grace Oblivious, I used roving and a felting needle she sent me for the stash swap months and months ago! Wink

Here are my goods as promised!  Not in action though, since I am feeling a under the weather I wouldn't want to scare you with how I look right now...

Lexer sent me some beautiful dragonfly stitch markers:

Sorry for the horrible picture but they are gorgeous!  They will definetly make me smile while I'm knitting!

She also sent these super perdy earrings.  These are like some that have been on my wishlist for some time and I am so happy to finally have some!  I love them!

ANNND, finally, I got a dear deer t-shirt.  I love the way the stencil looks worn and vintage-y. It's a very nice and comfy tee too!

These pictures don't even do my package justice, hopefully I'll be able to get some better ones in the near future!  Thank you Alexis you made a fab package! I love love love it all!

Hey all!  I realized I never posted abuot the package Ember77 sent me for this swap!  I sent her some stitchmarkers early in the month, but they were nothing compared to this awesome package she sent me!

I have been wanting to learn how to knit socks and I haven't had the right tools so Ember77 sent me all the goods I need!  She sent DPNs, yarn, and a whole slew of sock patterns.

She also sent an embellished knitting tote (complete with knitting themed pins), and extra patterns with things to make for my daughter and my doggy!

Thank you thank you thank you!  I haven't got to dive in to the sock making yet, but I have used the tote and it is SOOOO much better than carrying  my knitting in a plastic grocery bag Wink

I got my third package from my Secret FOC!  I finally got to check my mail today so I hope I didn't leave you hanging for too long, darling FOC, everything is perfect and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it all!

My Package was themed Good things and bad things, first off was some great herbal tea to help with my stress of being a Mommy, and my diet... and then there were the little candies for my "bad thing."  Although, these aren't that bad, since they are so little it's ok to cheat a bit!

Second I got this great homemade jewelry set with matching jewelry box.  It's made up of gorgeous felted beads!  This is definetly a good thing!

Lastly I got this sweet little sock monkey, who my partner tried to justify as being a bad thing, although how could she since he is sooo cute!  She got him off etsy and he is my store bought item (she too is switching around the surprise and store bought item, as not to give herself away too soon).  I love him thank you!  The only bad thing about him I guess, is that I only got to play with him for a bit, Cam stole him and ran off!

THANK YOU THANK YOU Smiley What a great package!

I got my second fabulous package Smiley  I think I am getting some more clues as to who my wonderful partner is! Thank you so much Secret FOC!

My package was a woodland theme, everything in it is perfect!

I got the cutest needle felted nest pin with a sweet bird sitting in it, it is soooo cute.  I must find something to pin it on ASAP.  I am thinking I will wear it out tomorrow!

A great bleached long sleeve t-shirt, I love how the brown bleached out to a beautiful pink, because I think pink and brown together are gorgeous Smiley  There's a tree design also on it!  I missed the tree swap and was quite sad about it, so this is lovely!  It fits great too!  Sorry that I don't have an action shot yet, Secret FOC, but I promise to get one soon.

Finally I got a beautiful dayflower scarf.  The knitting job is gorgeous.  I have been admiring this pattern for awhile now, but am not ready to tackle the lace yet.  I am so thrilled to have one that is done perfectly!.  The color is one of my favorites, too!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU Smiley  You made my day!
