I would LOVE to have a recipe for your banana nugget cookies!  I adore bananas.

I love the reindeer knit - supercute!  And, how funny: I sent Lethargic the same Snowman tin that epic1313 sent you.  And then I went back for another one!

Mmm.  Cookies.

By the way, I made the chai snickerdoodles mentioned here, and love them.   So great.

What a lovely package!  The raspberry almond cookies do sound especially tasty and the orange shortcake (the little stars, right?) are so pretty.

I have my fingers crossed that the package I sent will arrive today.  Until this morning, I'd managed to resist checking the tracking numbers, but I just broke down and it looks like it's in town, Lethargic!

The Chocolate Red Chile cookies sound good to me.  They remind me of one of my family's traditional Christmas cookies, Mexican Chocolate Cookies - from one of Maida Heatter's  old "all things chocolate" sort of cookbooks.  They are refrigerator cookies, combine chocolate, cinnamon, and cayenne, and keep very well.  My dad makes them for Christmas every year.  I found the exact recipe online, and highly recommend them:  http://bakingsheet.blogspot.com/2005/07/more-of-maida-mexican-chocolate.html

I love the German heart... and would love a recipe for chai snickerdoodles [hint hint hint  Wink  ] if one of y'all has it handy.

Lethargic: I've tried all of the cookies since last night, and they are all really tasty.  I can't decide which is my favorite.  I know I'll make the chocolate crinkles myself again - they are great, and such a perfect little size - and I love the pumpkins and meringues, but I think that the cranberry noels are my favorite. They are great!

I wasn't expecting  my package today, but when I got home, I saw a package on the little table under my mailbox on my porch.  I thought it might be a present I ordered for a friend - but no!  My cookies from Lethargic had arrived.  Poor things, they sat there all afternoon and much of the evening, lonely and cold and a little damp, as we have been swimming in rain all afternoon.  The postal dude put them up against the house, though, so they were well sheltered - the cardboard was just a little damp, and the contents were fine.  Fine?  Delicious...

I brought it inside, and Boo here had to take a look:

Since it didn't smell like tuna, he wasn't much interested:

However, it DID smell like a confectionery, so I was interested.  Inside, I found a great oven mitt, to protect my fingers from future endeavors with the oven, a lovely little note, and a cool wrapping paper envelop full of recipe cards:

And underneath all that, I found this gorgeous tin:

I really like the cookie tin.  I just bought wrapping paper on the same theme - graphic and bright red and bright white.  Smiley  But more than that, I love what was inside.  My cookies arrived all intact.  You know that they were well packaged, as these beautiful meringues were unbent, and unbroken:

Next to the meringues, I found these fabulous looking pumpkin spice cookies:

Oh, and beneath these, there was more, much more.  First came a layer of chocolate crinkle cookies.  I've tried one of these - I couldn't resist - and they are to die for.  And then, underneath the chocolate cookies, I found still another layer, this time of the festive cranberry noels:

I have a terrible dilemma, now.  I cannot decide which cookie to eat next!

Thank you, Lethargic!

The cookies look delish and the snowflakes are great.  Thank you for the link to the tutorial.  I bought a kit for beaded snowflakes like that at the thrift store for .25 cents a couple of weeks ago - it all looked intact, all the bead packs were unopened - but the directions were missing!   Huh

Now I can make some of my own.

Mmm.  My cookies went out this morning, bright and early.  And, despite the gray gloom that has since enveloped us, it WAS bright early today.  Oh, the rainy gloom - so sad, since I wanted to leave work early and spend the day planting the spring bulbs I ordered at half-price late in the season.  Which are still not in the ground!  Fortunately, the plant lady at work assures me that I can plant them anytime, as long as the ground isn't frozen.  Still, it's been such a cold fall I worry that the ground will freeze soon.

So, I distract myself with cookies.  I brought in a little plate of extras to work.  Yum!  I hope my partner likes, and can't wait to see what I get!

I will definitely be mailing on Monday.  I need the weekend to get my bake on.  The packing guidelines look really helpful (the number of times I've eaten broken Christmas cookies mailed ahead by some relative or another...) and I love love love love love that Gourmet magazine article on their favorite cookies over the decades.

I am *really* excited about the recipe I'm going to try for my partner, too.

I like epicurious.com, too.  The recipes are from Gourmet and Bon Appetit.  They often have pretty, pretty food pictures and they also have reviews.  Right now, there's a "Top 25 Holiday Cookies" feature. Some of the elaborate icing is a bit more than I like on my holiday cookies, but I still like the pictures.
