So we have decided to have a Lego party for Q's 6th birthday (Sept. 17th, ack) and it instantly made me think of you atsuko!!

Hope everyone who was in Irene's path is safe and sound!

Glad to hear you VA/MD ladies are safe!  So scary, we are quite a bit away but still felt it quite strongly, my husband lived in CA as a child so he snapped into earthquake mode, got Zelda out of her crib (she was napping) and moved us all to a safe spot in the house... Q was at school and he said he didn't feel anything.  Glad we aren't still living in an apartment in MD though, I don't think I could've dealt with more than we got!  And now we prepare for Irene, fun.  Undecided

I am going to try to check in around here but it might not be very much!  If we aren't already FB friends you should add me (Amy Stagner in Raleigh, NC)!  Hoping to be back in November but I think my husband has finally realized I really don't want a "real" job so he is being very supportive and pushing me to make my crafting my job, so I have a feeling things are going to be getting even more insane in the months to come.  His dad will be out of the office space starting in Nov. so he really wants me to take over and make it a handmade boutique, he's apparently been really impressed with what I have been making lately, yay!  It's both exciting and terrifying.  Now to really learn how to "start a business".  YIKES!

The Teeny Tiny MochiMochi book ad in the corner is going to make me crazy!  SOOOOO tiny and cute!  I need to work on my knitting and put that book on my wishlist for birthday/Christmas!

I still need to spend down my points... Whatchu got?
Anyone have any solid (or possibly polka dots) quilting cotton yardage or fleece yardage? or D-Rings?  or... hmmmm...

ZS, your endodontist wasn't in College Park, was he? Smiley

LOL!  We weren't far from CP so he might have had an office there, once or twice a month he would do root canals for my dentist in office so I am not really sure where he came from... I will keep my fingers crossed for you, root canals are much more pleasant when you have something nice to look at!  Cheesy

... endodontist (aka root canal specialist) ...

This reminds me of the super hot endodontist that did my root canal when we lived in MD... man he was DREAMY.
I hope you get your teeth issues all fixed, dental work is the worst, not to mention that it is expensive.

Q's first week of kindergarten is going well, I am getting massive amounts of sewing done during the day (Zelda is a pro at playing by next to me on the floor, she has a big bucket of cookie cutters that she's been sorting).  We have a crafty school project to work on this weekend, so that should be fun!

I am asking again, just in case someone who can help missed the first one (and since now I have a better idea of size/etc)... (sorry, but I need to know so I can get back to my FIL so he can find another way, he doesn't need a whole lot so ordering a bulk order would just be insane and a waste of money, he just wants a handful for his volunteers, 10-20 at most)

I need buttons/badges with pin backs, (not made with a toy button maker, I have one, it does the push in pin backs and they are awful), not a lot (as many as I can get with 2 pts), larger than 1" for my FIL for his city council campaign.  I have the artwork.  The election is the first week of Oct. (and I am only in this round to spend down) so I would like to be able to claim them right away.  Thanks guys!

Does anyone have a real button maker (I have a "toy" hello kitty one that would not work for this)?  My FIL would like a few buttons for his campaign (he's running for city council) ideally between 10-20, but even just a handful would work.  They are just for volunteers and such, not to pass out to voters or anything... I have 2 pts to spend so I can leave and it would be great if I could use them for this.  I have the artwork he wants used and everything!  PLEASE PM me if you can do this (I haven't been able to check in much here since my computer time is limited, as my laptop has decided it hates me).  Thanks!

I have a button maker! it's a 1" one.

I finally got a chance to ask him and he thinks 1" is going to be too small for his logo/image thing, he doesn't think it will be readable... :/
