1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Vendor suggestions for dark colored paper? on: January 29, 2006 06:53:43 PM
Please feel free to redirect to another thread (I couldn't find one).  What I'm looking for is this:
Text weight paper in a sapphire blue and deep (think amethyst) purple.  Paper Source has a blue that comes close, though in a shiny paper and I'd really like a matte paper.

I'm using them to make paper flowers for my wedding, so I'm being a little Bridezillaish on sticking to these particular colors.  I've found a blue that might work in a card stock, but not just the right purple.

2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Transparent vs. silver lined seed beads? on: September 30, 2005 01:26:11 PM
Help- I'm in crisis.  I'm hoping to buy some bead hanks on Ebay to use to make beaded flowers for my wedding.

The flowers will be small, so shiny would be good for impact.  I've never used silver-lined beads though- are they problematic in any way?

Thanks in advance.
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Centerpieces and mantel help needed. on: September 27, 2005 12:44:18 PM
I'm about to go insane (well, more insane than normal).

We're having a daytime wedding in May.  The bulk of the budget is going toward food, so I desperately need some low-cost advice for centerpieces and mantel decorations.

My venue:

One of the mantels is going to be the backdrop to the ceremony.  My mum will probably makes bows for the pew ends (colors are yellow, blue and purple, like a piece of fabric from Provence).  Should we rig a bow garland for the mantlepieces?  (The wreaths in the pictures must stay up.)  Or any other ideas?  I'd love to sprinkle candles all around, but the effect wouldn't be so great given that it's the afternoon.

The venue comes with hurricane candleholders.  We were thinking of having dried lavender wreaths around them, and maybe looping a piece of ribbon around them.  Any thoughts about where to get reasonably prices wreaths?  Or another type of wreath idea?

I can probably also whip up some beaded flowers as accents (I'm thinking about doing this for the ribbons anyway).

Sigh.  I'm having so much fun designing my invites (yay for embossing powder!) but this is torture.
