sweetiemonster: I'm not sure on the exact length but the main part of the chain rests on my collar bone. The extra piece of chain and the pendant hang down about 2 1/2 more inches.
The pendant is a glass bead that I had from one of those "mass 'o glass" tubs that you can pick up at Michael's. I am glad that I was able to find an unconventional shape since they're mostly round in those tubs.
This was probably a 10 minute necklace, one of those spontaneous moments of inspiration, but I love, love, love it! The glass pendant is a funky colour that kind of morphs depending on the colours around it (army green/grey/black etc) and the length is great for filling in all different necklines.
What do you think? I am always so inspired by everyone's posts on here so I love getting feedback!
Thanks for looking!!!
(I'm having fun trying out my new digital camera!)
Ooooh! your necklace is very pretty! I recently purchased some smaller glass leaf beads and have not figured out a use for them -- now I'm wishing I had a larger leaf pendant! I bet this would look lovely with all the browns that are popular in clothing this year
Sidenote: Anyone else have a heck of a time finding brown beads?!
Here's a necklace that I made this evening while experimenting with green glass and purple acrylic beads as well as sterling chain. I'm not sure how I feel about the extra piece of chain that is attached to both sides of the necklace. What do ya think?!
Hopefully it interests someone who is considering a swap with me!
